First day of Autumn musings Changing seasons throughout the year serve as a reminder that the seasons of life have to come to an end. Summer, with its joy and bloom, colors and sensations bursting at the seams, life cannot be all summer. Autumn comes in, steady solitude, stillness, maybe even mourning the loss of summer. Autumn serves as a moment to reflect. To show gratitude, to reevaluate motivations, a moment to be still. To tackle complex emotions that may be blurre...d during the bliss of summer. To take a moment to decide who we want to be, set a new intention, redirect, go more inside ourselves to rediscover the inner joy, inner bliss. To give ourselves what we thought we needed from the world. I love you. #autumn #lifelessons #gratitude #stillness #reflection #hypnotherapy #yychypnotherapy

Wow. Words like this from a client really help me to keep focus on my gifts and talents. I am a healer, a challenger, not always easy to deal with, but I see the potential in each and every person I encounter. I expect much, because everyone deserves to live their life on purpose and in absolute alignment. Watching a client go from feeling wounded and broken, to fulfilled and content is what I love. Each client teaches me something about myself as well. Helps me to be...tter relate to the next person who needs me, or the next person who's help I need. Each client who shows up, allows their vulnerability to come through, shows me about the pure resiliency of a human soul. And I am so proud that they trust me enough to let me a part if that journey. Living and loving in gratitude. Living and loving in acceptance. Shameless and blameless. I love you. #hypnotherapy #hypnotherapyworks #weareallteachersandstudents #shadowwork #selfcare

Fear of abandonment, fear of rejection. The two greatest causes of pain in life. What I didn't realize was how these root issues were showing up in my behaviours. People pleasing, changing my personality to suit another person or situation, judging myself and others so harshly, gossiping, trying to fix rather than listen. The list goes on and on. The only solution is to take a flashlight and a magnifying glass and poke around inside my heart and soul. Find those things I...'m hiding from even myself. Bring them to the forefront. Hold them to the light, take away the source of their power. Only then can I sit in contentment with myself. Only then can I truly show up for those who love and need me. But the process never ends, the roots will never fully heal, I can never rest on my laurels. I have to do the work, then redo the work, over and over, right until the end. If this broken person can find light, so can you. I love you. #empoweringwomen #shadowwork #becomeyourownbestfriend

#Repost @decolonizingtherapy (@get_repost) To me Trauma, Anatomy & Colonization are intertwined. For example, Whiteness is an embodiment that holds a certain set or ideas and attitudes. There is a plethora of research supporting how colonization has deeply impacted the way we move our bodies. I would dare say that for those who walk in Whiteness there is - perhaps- a deep disconnect, a lack of embodiment; flow or rhythm. . . Think about this: most non-European peoples did... NOT wear pants before colonization. We didn’t use chairs. We Grounded, squatted close to the ground. In a circle. Connected. We valued movement in our walking & jiggling In our bodies. How do we continue to perpetuate this dysmorphia? . . . I dare say, that Being Right is a sort of infestation. This need to know everything, save everyone and be efficient. Rigidity in the body & charts of rights & wrongs.. . Honestly Whiteness is so obsessed with having it together, that it makes QIPOC FEEL (imposter syndrome here) like it’s never ever enough. And ya know what it won’t ever be. It’s not OUR container. Whether you’re Arab or Black or Chicana; Whiteness has permeated into the membranes of our ways & neural pathways. Even Our bodies moved differently prior to colonization! . . Trauma locks up the use of the iliopsoas muscle (fight/ flight). Post colonized life reinforces trauma to produce a rigid & disassociated embodiment -Whiteness. Whiteness is exhausting. That mental chatter & answers to every dang thang. . I would like to invite all of us to see how Whiteness takes up space and becomes an epigenetic & energetic imbalance - where emotional energy can get stuck in the upper body in the form of heady/ overthinking. . . Whiteness is a trauma itself. Yes, I am learning not to over focus on It, but survival leads one to study its colonizer. In politicizing our therapy I am clear that White bodies need to actively experience the discomfort of their body NOT being dominant in a space in order to understand how much pain they are in. It’s time ya’ll. Suck it the fuck up bruh. . This work rests on the shoulders of Somatics, Trauma & Resilience Generative Healing; the dope Ta See more
