We are officially announcing that our 5th Annual Conference is set for February 5-6, 2020 at the Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel. We are now accepting applications for presenters for topics related to commercial tobacco, traditional tobacco teachings, and vaping. Topics can include other areas of health as they relate to tobacco or vaping (e.g. mental health, pregnancy, diabetes etc.). If you are or know of an elder/knowledge keeper who would be interes...ted, we would accept verbal applications over the phone to reduce barriers (e.g. access to computer etc.) and would cover expenses for them to travel to Winnipeg. Registration opens next week. We will be sponsoring up to 4 Representatives from the 36 Southern Manitoba First Nations, ideally from Health, Education, or Chief and Council (see comment section for which First Nations apply). If you are one of the representatives referenced, you can instead prioritize sending either youth, community members, or elders to attend as long as you have up to 4 representatives.
