Sometimes patients (usually newbies) ask me what to expect in the healing process with their lips. Now my experience is uniquely mine and I tend to be the type that bruises/swells more dramatically but I wanted to show it as a form of education. Some patients may have minimal bruising or some may have more pronounced bruises but everyone has swelling. Some LOVE the swelling because they love a dramatic lip others get nervous & feel better as i...t goes down each day. : Swelling is normal it will get better with each passing day and is usually resolved by 2 weeks Ice application can help and sleeping with your head elevated can also help brushing can happen plan to have your treatment 2 weeks before special occasions Avoid alcohol, over the counter Advil or multivitamins 48 hours before/after your treatment and talk to your health care provider before stopping a prescription. You can expect some mild tenderness the first day or so and it should improve with each passing day Ice can help with the inflammation and stay hydrated.
