Hey Lancers! Mary-Catherine here with another video. I've had so many amazing conversations this week and I feel so blessed to have so much support, but one question students have been asking me is how exactly I plan to advocate for a tuition freeze when it's been promised time and time again and nothing has happened. My answer? It's all about taking the right type of action and presenting the Board of Governors with a real, feasible alternative. Check out the video for all the details on how I'm going to make this happen, and don't forget to vote on October 25th and 26th at www.uwindsor.ca/uwsavote.
Every year we say we're going to do it, and every year they ignore us. The fact is, the Board of Governors has no reason to give us a tuition freeze when our efforts to make it happen are so easy to dismiss. The responsibility of making sure that all students on campus are informed about our current tuition situation falls on the shoulders of the Board of Governors representative. If elected, I will make sure that every single student is aware and empowered to act against bac...k-breaking tuition. Furthermore, it's easy to dismiss our demands when we have no information to back them up. That's why I'm committed to working with the new President and the finance committee to draft an alternative budget demonstrating that the university will be just fine without sending students deeper and deeper into debt. If we all show up, and show up with facts, they won't be able to ignore us. #MC4BoG See more
For a university with an operating revenue of $268 million, we sure don't know how to spend it in a way that benefits students. If elected, I would advocate for more funding to be allocated to each faculty and away from useless projects that do nothing to improve our experience or increase the value of our degrees. #MC4BoG
It's hard for students to do anything about racism and discrimination on campus when administration refuses to act. Here's my plan to bring our concerns about the environment on campus to an administrative level. (P.S.- hop on over to Instagram and let me know what you think about institutional and systematic discrimination in the poll on my story!) #MC4BoG

Hey Lancers! Yesterday I had an opportunity to connect with some awesome fourth year HK students and to have a conversation that I think was surprising for all of us. We talked about backbreaking tuition, wasteful spending, the lack of funding towards projects that will actually improve our experience and the value of our degree, and why it's important for all students on campus to connect with each other and work together on issues that affect all of us. Our conversation was so productive and inspiring that I wanted to share it with all of you. It's kind of a long a video, but if what I'm saying is something you can get behind, give it a share and spread the word! And don't forget to vote on October 25th & 26th at uwindsor.ca/uwsavote #MC4BoG
