Lets go skiing.... This group is to encourage people to ski the Down the Mountain loop, between December 26 and January 24th. There are two ways to participat...e. You can go ski the route, and then make a post to this Facebook group. Post a photo, poem, or anything about your ski. The route is also a Strava Nordic Ski Segment called "BVN Holiday Hustle". Strava is free and fairly easy to use. You can record your ski on strava, and at the end of the hustle, we will post Strava results here. There will be random prizes drawn each week, and maybe special prizes in between. The route is show on the map below. It starts at the lodge, and runs counterclockwise. Go up Northern Lights, turn onto Goldeneye, and then go Down the Mountain. Turn up Valleyview to Dahlie Connector, to the Perimeter, then to the Hub, and up Broadway back to the lodge. Do it once....or do it twice.... So, please go out and ski, and have some fun. See more

It's official! The cross country trails are opening this weekend. If you filled out your seasons pass application online on Sat Nov 14 or earlier we have passes available for pickup at the store. Next batch of passes should be ready soon. We will also have day passes available for sale on Saturday but are still closed Sundays so bring cash with you for a pass purchase at the trails. We are not sending out rentals yet we will wait to see the condition of the trails in person b...efore making that call. BV Nordic Announcement Bulkley Valley Nordic Centre will open November 21, 2020. A season pass or day ticket will be required starting this Saturday. Register online for your season pass. Good snow and lots of early packing means that the PistenBully can start grooming trails for the weekend. We expect to have about 25 km of early season trails ready for crazy nice skiing. We should have all of the dog trails (10 km) in good shape. Unfortunately, the rest of the Pine Creek trails are blocked by deep wet sections which will need a deep freeze or more snow. On the Chris Dahlie side, we will have about 15 km of early season trails available for the weekend. Valley View and the road out to HB Mtn Road are not being groomed for the next 6 weeks because of planned use by logging trucks accessing salvage patches at the end of Valley View. But we can carefully cross the logging road at the end of Broadway to ski out and back on Wetzin’kwa and Upper Logging Trail; a nice 14 km round trip from the lodge. The Club has a COVID-19 Safety Plan that relies on everyone doing their part. Please make sure you go to https://bvnordic.ca/covid-19-info and read the plan before skiing. Some of the key bits: Please stay away from the Nordic Centre trails and buildings if you don’t feel well. If you have COVID-19 or are displaying symptoms, self-isolate for the period recommended by health officials. Maintain 2 metre distancing in the parking lot, on trails and in buildings. Trail passing etiquette: Our trails our wide, so use the space to keep 2 metres apart during passing. Skaters passing or being passed should move to a classic track and double pole. If you are approaching from behind, call out Passing to warn others you want to pass. Wear a mask and use hand sanitizer to enter any Nordic Centre building.
