For many families, everything they had was turned to stone. This was the report from MCC area director Vurayayi Pugeni after the May 22 volcanic eruption near Goma, DR Congo. Hundreds of homes on the outskirts of the city were destroyed by flowing lava from Mount Nyiragongo. MCC and local partners will provide emergency assistance to affected families. Your donations and prayers will help bring critical support to these global neighbours. Thank you for your support for MCC’...s response to the volcanic eruption in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. donate.mcccanada.ca/cause/dr-congo-volcano-relief donate.mcc.org/cause/dr-congo-volcano-relief #mccpeace

There is this realization that often the very best work we could do would be undone in a moment by violence, says Rick Cober Bauman, MCC Canada’s executive director. Only when there is peace and stability in communities do development projects have a chance to be birthed and then thrive. #mccpeace
