Funny enough we received ONE bike for sale today. Hoping many more fallow suite. Currently have a Brodie Revel 56cm (Large) gravel bike kicking in the shop waiting for it's loving owner. Let us know if you'd like to reserve a test ride!
If you've been calling around looking for a new bicycle or even parts you may have found out that there is nothing to be found. This is entirely true. The bike industry has been hit with an unprecedented shortage of materials. But! How could this ever happen you ask? ... Well, it has to due with many, many factors. The biggest being classic supply-and-demand. There's too much demand globally and absolutely no way to keep up with it at the moment. Bicycles are an impressive machine made up of a multitude of parts originating from just a few places on earth. If even just one piece is missing the bike cannot function. Most bike components come from a few major factories, the biggest supplier on earth being Shimano. The industry has been told that the current lead time on some parts is as far out as 600 days. Yes you heard me, TWO years before we will see some essential machinery. And this doesn't even cover the fact that seat makers, pedal producers and bell ringers are also caught up in this whirlwind! So even though most of your favorite local bikeshops have pre-ordered almost a year in advance we are all still waiting on the trickle that will arrive over the course of the next couple months. Even parts that have made it out of the warehouses are currently caught up in shipping jams around the world. So going into this season you may hear a lot of "Conserve and clean!" Meaning there will be a lot less emphasis on replacement and a lot more into cleaning, overhauling and re-servicing of current parts. This could mean slightly longer wait times as we tear bits apart and tinker! But do not fear- we love this stuff. Bringing things back to life that should be dead is the McCrank's way; and we will continue to do so going forward. Don't be too saddened though- we do have bikes on arrival. They just may be a month or two out. If you are itching for a new ride feel free to keep a close eye on the website, we will be updating as soon as inventory lands. Most of all we want to thank everyone for continuing to support us through all these crazy months , and we can't wait to see you when we all get our first sunburn of the season. Much love, the McCrankiest of Bike shops.
With the upcoming stay at home order McCrank's will be reducing hours a wee bit and asking that you make appointments to the best of your abilities by either visiting our website or giving us a quick phone call at 613-563-2200. We will remain open for all essential service work and wish that you have a warm and safe couple of weeks. See you all on the flip side. -The McCrank's Team
Holiday Hours: We will be closed the 24th, 25th, 26th, and then, of course, New Years day the fallowing week. We really hope everyone has a safe and easy-going holiday time- however that may look this year. Whether it's lighting up the house with cheer, or making strange new traditions that your family will mock you for in the coming years, we wish you a merry everything, and a happy new year. -Team McCrank's *candycane emoji*
After 25 years of service we finally traded in our Skate Sharpener! Rita the Cag One professional skate profiler has finally been allowed to retire. In its place is a super Speed Sharpener that we hope to totally disregard its service log for another 20 years or so. Hockey or Figure skates: 9$ Per pair Or 38$ for a 5 pass card.
For a wee bit of re-coop the shop will be closed for a couple days of the first week of December.
New Website is Go! With all those quirky modern features like online booking, online shopping and legally obtained stock photos that look like we know what we're doing. (We don't). www.mccranks.com Click and behold!
September Update: Firstish : We will be closed Tuesdays for the next while to help us rest up a bit for a season that just keeps rolling. Secondish: Also we did get a small shipment of Brodie bikes in. We currently have two unclaimed models: a Brodie Romulus in 48cm and a Brodie Roam in 48cm up for grabs.... Thirdish: Linus bikes will be on the menu for 2021! Due to high demand it might be prudent to email us a reservation for a model just in case as I imagine there will be limited supply. Forths: Thank you everyone for your support and patience these months, it has absolutely bananas and couldn't ask for a greater community of people heading into the fall/ ski season. <3

What a hell of a season so far! I want to thank every single wonderful person who has supported us through these strange times. I really can't express my gratitude enough for everyone's patience and graciousness over the past couple weeks. Going forward I just wanted to let everyone know that there may be delays in responding to emails and messages (and possibly even the store phone). Don't be alarmed, we are just facing the issue of being a tiny shop with a huge volume of......well everything. We are trying our best with our limited staff at this time and really appreciate all those booking appointments even if its a months time from now for some jobs. I will be back with an update on available bikes for sale as well, as we are running on short supply. (ABSOLUTELY BONKERS!) Love you all , the McCrank's team.

What an absolute roller-coaster of a week. We sincerely hope that everyone is doing okay and that your essential stores of beer and quarantine snacks have remained plentiful. As it stands now it looks like we will be allowed to continue to operate under the essentials list. We will keep you updated on any future changes otherwise. We will continue to exercise precaution in the handling and sanitation of customer's bikes and ask that e-transfer to the be used if that is an opt...ion. We will also continue to offer pick-up and drop off services with an appointment. We are here for you, and don't hesitate to call if you need anything. That includes picking up prescriptions, groceries or other essential items you may need. This is the time to care for the community; we are there to help. Much Love, The wee McCrank's Team.
Though business as usual might not be the right words, the shop will be open for service. This will include a drop off and pick up service for those that need it. As it stand right now what we really care about is that everyone stay safe and look after each other in the coming weeks. Check in on your friends and neighbors, hug your pets and lube your chains.
