I want to thank you for your services, everything went perfectly and exceeded our expectations. You made the experience wonderful and so very special for us. The ceremony was so perfect for us that Garrett actually questioned afterwards if I had hand chosen the Dr. Seuss quote that you chose because it fit us so perfectly! Thank you for helping us to start our lives together. Marilyn & Garrett November 7, 2020

Well the Weather co-operated somewhat today for what I could probably safely say was my last backyard ceremony for 2020. It was well on the cold side, but I can say no one cared. The precipitation held off to right before we signed papers. So we went inside for that. Samantha & Kerey were number 25 for the year and 220th to date.

You were beyond our expectations especially during a pandemic, not only were you super professional, but also so understanding and helping us fit the need through such a different time. I have already recommended our family and friends to go with you for their weddings! We can’t thank you enough for you for being part of our wedding!

I tell couples that I will accept any Affirmative response to the legally required question "You are here willingly, freely and without reservation to be legally married. I would accept this as well.

Over the years many Couples have told me that they would do it all over again, but none have done it over again on the same day. On Saturday (29-Aug) After Sean and Amie did their vows I turned to the groomsmen and ask "Gentlemen, who has the rings?" from the Groom I hear a faint "oh shit!", "They're in the truck". The look on his face was priceless (I'm a dead man). The bride taking it all in stride said "it's all good" and handed him her engagement ring, and the best man handed him his ring[which was their father's]. They put the rings on but the Groom seemed uneasy. We signed papers while someone ran off to the truck to get the rings. Papers being signed, someone yell "Take two" to which I replied "Places everyone, quiet on the set". The couple repeated their vows and exchanged rings, did the 'Big Kiss". No one said a word.

I hit the number 200 mark today. A trip out to the town of Amherstburg today to perform a ceremony for friends. A few family members present, and other viewed via Facebook live. Had a minor issue with my tablet, but paper backup at hand. Hardly no one noticed. Of course I stopped in Waterfront Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt after. A treat for a job well done.

It was a great start to my wedding season this year. 25th January had me out to Willistead Manor for a small intimate gathering in the dining room. When I meet with a couple to plan their ceremony I tell them not to tell me anything they don't want to be known. "Anything you say can and may be used in the ceremony"... The proof is in the pudding when I said. "Today is a day of joy, a day in which David and Jillian proclaim their love and commit to one another." "A day in which David's long-time crush becomes his wife". Well by the reaction of those in attendance, this was a very well known thing. Here's to the rest of the season going as smooth as this one.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jim. Not only did he truly listen to our requests about keeping the ceremony completely non-religious, but he also personalized the whole ceremony suited to us. We are so focused on being a team and equality as a couple and Jims words captured our feelings perfectly. He was funny and lighthearted but also made it a very thoughtful and deep experience at the altar. We would recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant. Thanks for a beautiful ceremony, Jim! Signed two more couples into the book today. Over to Malden park for a 2pm ceremony, then hi tailed it out to Cooper's Hawk for number two. The rain did not dampen the mood at either ceremony.

When Kerri and I got married in 2016 - we knew we wanted to do it our own way. And we wanted to conduct our wedding ceremony the way we wanted it conducted. Eve...ry aspect of our big day - including the ceremony portion - was personalized. Choosing someone to officiate our day was a daunting task - we wanted to incorporate elements of our Christian background, while making the ceremony as uniquely crafted to us as possible. On air at AM800, I mentioned that I was looking for an officiant and I was lucky enough to get inundated with people recommending Jim McDowall - Wedding Officiant. Jim was born and raised in Windsor - and hes been a licensed officiant in the province of Ontario since 2011 - officiating hundreds of weddings of all shapes and sizes. He tells me its all about personalizing. I wanted to give people an alternative to the typical wedding ceremony. Give them a chance to get away from the cookie cutter, sign here ceremony. Give them the input they want and options to make it theirs. Jim has a background in information technology and did training sessions to large and small groups while in that field - but his desire to become an officiant dates back to several decades ago. Back in the late 70's early 80's I produced wedding videos, and thought that what the pastors were doing looked like fun. I had been kicking around the idea of becoming an officiant for a few years, and back in 2011 my sister asked if I would perform their ceremony. After Jims glowing recommendations from couples whove used him previously - we met with him and found him to be warm, caring, and dependable. Jim was sensitive and receptive to our ideas and was prepared to offer direction as needed. Jim tells me its about serving the happy couple and meeting their needs. A majority of my clients are young people that have never been married before, and most want to do things their own way and on their own terms. They want to have a ceremony at a place they like or that is different. Some are of different faiths and so it can be difficult to find the right mix. Most want a say in what happens during the ceremony and are eager to ask "Can we do..." type questions. Having Jim officiate our ceremony was fantastic - he added an element of fun and spontaneity to our day. I love to have fun during a ceremony. I will drift off script if something happens. And if the couple wants to get friends and family involved in the ceremony, that is all part of it. Jims officiated weddings across all locations here in Windsor Essex and loves the variety of the area as a backdrop for someones special day. You can have a beach ceremony at one of the many beaches that are right here locally. There are a lot of wineries, and historic locations...or right in your own backyard if you want. So many options, you don't have to take off somewhere to have a fun, romantic or family oriented ceremony. Then you don't have far to go for the reception. If you want to pick a park and have a few friends present, you don't have to look far. In addition to Windsor he serves all of Essex County including: LaSalle, Essex, Lakeshore, Tecumseh, St. Clair Beach, Emeryville, Belle River, Amherstburg, Leamington, Kingsville, Harrow, Maidstone, St. Joachim, Stoney Point, Comber, Woodslee and Pelee Island. So if you are looking to say your I Dos - do it with Jim McDowall - you won't be disappointed! The bride today seemed a little nervous today. After the "big kiss" she turned raised their hands in the air and took off down the Isle. I looked at the guests and said "Ladies and Gentlemen, there goes Mr. and Mrs..., you can catch them later at the reception"
