This Mother’s Day, although many of us still can’t be together, let’s all get vaccinated so this will be our last one apart from our families. Happy Mother’s Day, especially to the moms working on the frontlines to keep us safe. Thank you for all you do. #ScarbTO #myCOVIDvax #mothersday2021 Thank you to my Mom, Andrea Hazell, MP Jean Yip and Dr. Lisa Salamon-Switzman of Scarborough Health Network for their #covidvacccine photos.

Investing in Economic Development & Culture: 2021 is the year of public art. This year's approved City of Toronto - Your Local Government budget invests $4.5 M to support new public art activations for every Ward. Community Safety Investment Alert The 2021 approved City of Toronto - Your Local Government budget has a strong focus on community safety. In Scarborough-Rouge Park, City investments include: Creating after-school and weekend programming at the Danzig (West Hill) and Empringham (Malvern) youth hubs. $600,000 over 3 years has been awarded through a Youth Violence Prevention (YVP) grant to hire 3 local members of our community to run the spaces.... Scarborough Rouge Park is included in a three-year for alternative models of community crisis response, without the presence or intervention of the police. This Staff-recommended pilot is informed by extensive community consultation, and will allow the City to test, evaluate, and review the service design prior to full City-wide implementation. This is as an investment of $1.7 M this year. Learn more by visiting: https://bit.ly/2ZqRfV1

Good News at Adams Park! Residents have contacted my office to share that access to the Park from Linderwood Drive is difficult in snowy and icy conditions. I'm happy to report that in time for this weekend, Parks, Forestry and Recreation staff have added a wood-chipped pathway to allow for easier and safer access to park amenities. Thank you to the residents who shared their concerns with my office, and Parks, Forestry and Recreation staff who took quick action to address resident concerns.

This 20-minute digital resource provides basic facts about coyotes, information about coyote behaviour in urban environments, and tips on how to respond when encountering coyotes so that both animals and people can remain safe.
