LAZY RM RANCH 18.01.2021

Good evening to you all. Most I have had the pleasure of meeting and building good solid friendships with, some I have yet to meet. Today the ad for the Estate Auction of our ranch was published. Coles Auction will be handling the details. It will be 10 days shy of the one year anniversary of Russell’s death. Sooo bittersweet. I pray for a family to come and love the farm and raise their family here. It’s beautiful! ... So many memories in the development, demolishing and rebuilding. Cowboy camps, lessons, women’s retreats, heart to hearts, coaching, learning and most importantly loving. When the ranch is sold and new owners take possession, I will no longer host this site. I will keep it as a memory for sure of everything we’ve done together, and the connections of so many people who have enriched our lives, and still encourage me now so grateful for the opportunities to share life, laughter and love with you all. Ps. I’m not going far right now so let’s stay in touch! http://www.colesauctionservices.com//McKenzie%20List%20.pdf

McKenzie, Russell James 1961 2019 On Friday, August 30th, Russell James McKenzie, loving husband, son, brother and father, peacefully passed away at home at the age of 57 years from an inoperable brain tumor.... Russell was born and raised in Rocky Mountain House, AB on December 11, 1961 to Mildred and Ed McKenzie. He spent his youth along with his parents and eight siblings guiding in the family outfitting business, working on oil rigs, and obtaining his journeyman’s ticket for sheet metal mechanics. Russell loved to work. With his first wife, Shelley Brauer, he built up a farm for cattle and horses near Rocky Mountain House, and with her help, provided a great start to several foals that have since become irreplaceable, wellbroke horses. In 2010, Russell was re-married to Sandra (Enns). They settled near Eckville on a ranch to devote his life to raising, training and competing horses full time. His gift of connection, both to horses and people were what made hiseyes sparkle. He was a remarkable horseman, coach and friend to many. He loved to dance with Sandra, anywhere the music struck him and it brought him great joy to see her smile. His desire for Gods will in his life became a focal point, changing his heart towards the urgency of putting others needs before his own both near and far. He was passionate about his Mexico Mission Team and the love he gaveand received through his participation. Russell is survived by his wife, Sandra and their children Holly and Corey; his mother Mildred McKenzie and step-father Lorne Goff; siblings: Ron (Laurie), Trish (Evan), Tom (Tracy), Randy (Lana), Bonnie (Gil), Linda (Scott),Shelley (Kelly) and Darren; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Russell was predeceased by his father Ed McKenzie and niece Nicole McKenzie. He was a very strong and courageous man and he will be greatly missed. A tribute, honoring the memories of Russell will be held at Eckville Community Center on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM with reception to follow. If you wish to share a song, bring your instrument. Memorial Donations in Russell’s name may be made to the Withrow Gospel Mission Mexico Mission Fund - 246 Withrow Road, Withrow, AB T0M 0X0. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayand not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ~ Russell peacefully passed away in his home, surrounded by his loved ones last night (August 30th) 7pm. I miss him and I am overjoyed for him.
