Every month as a part of our monthly challenge we select a local charity to support. This month, our teams are 'spring cleaning' and donating gently used clothing and household items in support of the Calgary Women in Need Society (WINS). Founded in 1992, Women in Need Society (WINS) is Calgary’s homegrown thrift charity, providing basic needs resources and support to women and their families. If you are in need, or you are able to help, please visit their website, https://b...it.ly/33z9glP, for additional information. The TREC Dental family is a group of locally owned clinics that believe in giving back to our community and internationally.

April is Earth Month, and today, April 22, is Earth Day. "Each year, Earth Day marks an international celebration of environmentalism. Canadians recognize this occasion because we care about the environment, especially the quality of the air we breathe, the water we drink and our vast natural habitat. Fortunately, and contrary to rhetoric from parts of the environmental movement, Canadians have much to celebrate this Earth Day, due to our environmental record. Read more: https://bit.ly/3fgpCqE

It’s #TeamTalkTuesday and this month we are taking a stance against bullying. Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and online. Over the month of February, and throughout the year, Chew Chew Pediatric Dentistry and the TREC Dental family are supporting CKNW Kids' Fund's Pink Shirt Day, which aims to raise awareness of these issues, as well as raise funds to support programs that foster children’s healthy self-esteem. While bullying affects so many pe...ople physically, emotionally and mentally, we know there are many more students, parents, schools and community members that want to know what they can do to help. Whether it’s joining us in wearing pink on February 24, 2021 to show you’re taking a stand, or making an effort to practice kindness and acceptance, or even giving a donation or fundraising for programs that make a difference, EVERY contribution can change a life. With one in five students affected by bullying, chances are that you or someone you know is being impacted. If you’re not sure what to do, reach out to someone who can help. And remember, kindness and compassion can go a long way. If you’re being bullied, bullying someone else, or see a friend who is being bullied, take a look at the resources posted online at the @pinkshirtday website. www.pinkshirtday.ca/resources

Greater Good Magazine’s Science based insights for a more meaningful life discuss how gratitude may seem like a simple emotion, but Robert Emmons argues that it inspires kindness, connection, and transformative life changes. And he’s done the research to prove it. We hope you find the article linked below as inspiring and fascinating as we did! https://bit.ly/3bff3SQ
