SUPPORT LOCAL. This week we had the pleasure of visiting the Alpenglow Projects gallery in Vancouver. The gallery, which was founded by designer, sculptor and good friend @jeffmartinjoinery, opened the space as an alternative to design fairs as a way to help independent artists and designers. The rise of online shopping has put many independent design retailers at a a crossroads, but there is a lot that can be gained when visiting a gallery or a store in-person. When we ...stepped into the Alpenglow Projects gallery taking the necessary precautions we immediately got a better sense of the scale and tactile qualities of a piece first-hand. Viewing these gallery spaces and shopping in-person not only benefits smaller businesses, but it also gives a more in-depth appreciation for the craftsman and the products that come out of their imaginations.
