That moment when you see the asparagus field BURSTING with with little baby asparagus and you just whisper not so quietly: GROW ASPARAGUS GROW. (Fingers crossed for asparagus coming to a Saturday market 8-1 in downtown Peterborough near you this weekend - looks SO promising that we will be able to have a good first harvest!!!)

If you missed out on buying strawberry plants...Do we have some good news or do we have some good news!!! Know how we sold out SUPER FAST of ever bearing strawberry plants? Well we’re still sold out of THOSE - but we WILL be selling some June bearing strawberry plants - the ones you would normally do pick your own with! They won’t produce berries this season - but they will for at least another two years after this year and are some of our FAVOURITE varieties! We will be putting them on sale this Thursday evening at 7pm but just wanted to give all you lovely folks a heads up to keep an eye out on our page and online store as we know there are many of you who were still interested in plants for your garden this year and we don’t want anyone to miss out!

The closer we get to our summer season the faster the days seem to fly by. Today we plant strawberries for next year. Another six weeks or so (give or take depending on the weather!) and we will hopefully have the first strawberries from the plants we planted last year

UPDATE: Whoa. So that took less then an hour and we’re pretty sure we’re sold out, sorry! We have been trying to get back to messages as fast as possible - were not expecting this response and high demand! We will double check quantities in the morning to see if we have any more to sell - send us a dm and we will do our best! Welp. Turns out we goofed and though we usually are so good about the amount of plants we have...this year is the first year we have too many everbear...ing strawberry plants...uh oh! Our goof could be your garden though...? We’ll be selling 10 plants for 10 or 25 plants for 20 in our online store starting...uhhh...now until sold out. These can be planted anytime now and will start producing mid summer - and go all the way until frost! They’re everbearing so don’t produce quite as much all at once but will keep producing blossoms and berries later in the season and can be planted in your garden or in pots! PS - don’t wanna try planting your own? We’re potting some just for you and will be selling pots with plants you can take home of them later in the summer!

Wowzers - our down season has FLOWN by and this weekend starts the beginning of the outdoor farmers market season where we’ll have jam, syrup and preserves available until the first asparagus is ready - hopefully soon! We’ll be at the Peterborough Regional Farmers Market in its new location on Charlotte St on Saturday and the exact same location on Wednesday! Preorders via our website for jam, maple syrup, preserves or frozen fruit are welcome! Happy market season

What’ve we been up to since we closed for the winter? Stocking up the online store, putting the fields to bed for the winter, planning for next year, oh so much paperwork - and cooking lots of yummy foods that are good for the soul! Oh - and watching those oh so early sunsets. Obviously!

Out of jam, preserves or syrup?! Need that perfect holiday gift? Don’t worry, you can still order online right from our website with pickups at the farm! Right now pickups are available Mondays and Tuesdays (orders need to be in by 4pm the day before at the latest!) but you can message us and we’ll do our best to arrange a day or time that works better if those days don’t work with your schedule!
