Dr. Mudavanhu’s academic accomplishments in digital storytelling, African media studies, and critical race and decolonial studies informed our screening of Beyoncé’s Black Is King with some great discussion of representation and framing politics.

Meet Dr. Faiza Hirji! Her primary interests are in the ways the media intersects with race, religion & gender. She has published work on Muslim & South Asian diasporas focusing on their media representation as well as the active reception and production by these groups.
