Last, but certainly not least, we thank our supporters. As COVID restrictions continued into the summer months, it became apparent our students had significant financial needs in order to return to their studies with us. Many had lost jobs or were unable to find summer work to save for tuition, others had to put their studies on hold to homeschool their children. Some of our international students who lost jobs were unable to qualify for Canadian government benefits. We estab...lished the COVID-19 Tuition Relief Fund to provide financial assistance to our students and solicited our wider community. Our donors rose to the challenge. We were able to provide almost 40 students with aid to meet their financial obligations and return to us this Fall. Many of these donors were our alumni. What an encouragement it is to see these graduated students bless the next generation of leaders. See more

Happy Saturday! Today, we say thank you to our students! You have overcome many challenges over the last 9 months, working through your courses with understanding and patience as our delivery model has shifted. As leaders in ministry, we have seen the many ways our students have stepped up to serve each other, their church, ministry, and community during difficult times. We are especially proud of our DSA and the community they have fostered online, forming study groups, wat...ch parties for class, and various channels for prayer and support. As we look ahead to the Winter semester beginning in January, we will once again be holding our courses in a hybrid format with livestream replacing our in-person sessions, allowing participation from literally anywhere! As we continue our series of thankfulness, today we want to recognize our IT team! Led by Dr. Francis Pang, our IT team has no doubt been very busy over the last 9 months. They have worked to increase the capacity of our online teaching technology while configuring and supporting all faculty and staff as they work remotely. Thanks to this team and funding from our building project, we now have a fully functional livestreaming classroom and a recently added studio for filming course material! As we begin to wrap up our Fall semester, we pause to look back and give thanks to God for His faithfulness and provision for MDC. Over the next few days we want to highlight items of gratefulness within our community. Today, our Faculty! When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in April, we were faced with the decision to quickly adapt our course activities to remote learning. Our faculty were quick to adapt their courses to this new reality and smoothly transition to fully online fr...om their homes! They have taken on new training and now, having just completed three weeks of livestreaming sessions, many of our faculty are experts in virtual meetings, video production, and livestreaming! We are immensely grateful for their commitment to our students and dedication to the mission of MDC to train Christian leaders for the church, academy, and society. See more
