In health professions education, learning during COVID-19 has come with many changes! Our second Humans of FHS story highlights the perspective of Natalie, a second-year physiotherapy studentkeep reading for more! My experience with learning since COVID-19 has been challenging at times, but has also been rewarding. In the early days of the pandemic I struggled to focus on my studies because I was preoccupied with the uncertainty of the situation at hand and I was worried a...bout the impact that COVID would have on my education, my family, and society as a whole. It consumed most of my thoughts and I had a hard time engaging with school. Luckily, the physiotherapy program did a wonderful job transitioning us to online learning. We were lucky to have regular meetings with our program heads who updated on public health measures and how that impacted the future of our program. This helped reassure me and I was able to redirect my energy to studying and I became much more engaged in online learning. We are fortunate enough to still be able to go onsite once in a while to practice clinical skills and we still get to go on our clinical placements! This is thanks to all the advocacy work done by our program and faculty leaders. Although my learning experience has been different since transitioning online, it has helped me develop other important skills such as telerehabilitation! Natalie Constantin, Physiotherapy Year 2 We are interested in sharing and featuring your story, as part of Humans of FHS!
