What do you want to see in the park this year?

Sadly, as many of you have heard by now, we lost one hell of a human being this week. Charlie Bowins was a true original with a lust for life that was unparalle...led to anyone we’ve known. It has been a real honour to call him a friend and see what an impact he made in our community. Charlie’s influence in the skate community is well known and over the years he’s inspired so many people getting kids stoked on skateboarding and teaching so many their first tricks through his work at McNabb skate camps and For Pivot’s Sake. To pay tribute to Chuck, who has given so much to skateboarding in this city, not to mention everywhere else he traveled, OSCA will be working on a commemorative naming application for the upcoming outdoor McNabb Skate Park after the one and only Charlie Bowins. We know Charlie made a difference in so many peoples’ lives and we would really appreciate letters of support, stories, and articles from family, friends, local businesses, and anyone else as we begin the process for the name change in memoriam of Charlie. Please share this with anyone who may be interested and email your letters of support and stories about Charlie’s impact on the skate community to [email protected]. We’ll be sure to keep everyone in the loop as we work with the City of Ottawa towards naming the McNabb Skate Park after a homie who truly encapsulated the spirit of skateboarding in this city and everywhere he went.
