I know it’s been a while since I’ve checked in but it’s been a busy fall - and when I’m not out doing inspections and writing reports, this little cutie captures all my attention... and how could he not with that smile?! I hope you’re all staying safe and well.

Frequent Question Friday: what do you think about skylights? Our inspector Mike would tell you: Skylights have a tendency to leak. Regular inspections and maintenance are required to prevent future damages to the home. ... For this particular inspection, the comment would read: Damaged corner of skylight noted. Qualified person to inspect and repair immediately to prevent any possible water related damages to the home. Budget accordingly as repairs/repair can be costly. Who wouldn’t want to let in that glorious okanagan sunshine... but regular inspections of your skylights are key. Need some advice? Give us a call any time!

Happy Friday from this beautiful, roof top view in Naramata. Whenever it’s safe to do so, I always walk the roof of my inspection properties. While it’s easy to be wowed by fancy machines like drones, nothing beats a thorough, visual inspection to get an accurate picture of a roof’s current state. ... and when the views are this good, I’m happy to do it!

Family time. One of the reasons I wanted to start my own business was so I could prioritize time for my family. While it’s been a really busy summer, I’m taking a few days off to head out to the mountains for a few days of camping with my family. Next week is already fairly booked up but feel free to reach out if you need an inspection. I’ll be back in town on Sunday.

My occupational face mask. I always put on my respirator for entering attics and crawl spaces to ensure I stay safe on the job. No need for social distancing here - I was the only one brave enough to enter this attic on a 30 degree day. Thankfully this attic was well ventilated so it wasn’t too hot. It’s all a part of what I do to go above and beyond for my clients. Another good day on the job.
