"The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10 When you are weary and burdened, frightened and over whelmed, where do you run to?... Our Lord is a strong tower where we can be safe - we can stand in His presence and peace. But how do we do that? First of all, we need to talk to Him. About everything! When worries and fears crowd our minds, take your mind to His tower and think on higher things. Pray for His peace. Second, we need to read His Word. The Word is our lamp, our sword. When lies overrun us, we can go back to the truth of the Word, and know that we are loved, that we do not need to fear. Third - we need to surround ourselves with other believers who help us in times of trial. Who will discuss those higher things with us and who will walk beside us in this journey.

Happy Mother's Day to you all. To all the mothers who have given their sleep, their time, their bodies and poured all their love into little lives. To the mothers who clean little hands and little faces only to turn around and have to do it all over again. To the mothers whose babies did not make it into this world, but who are waiting for them in heaven.... To the mothers whose children left too young and to the mothers who want so very much to hold little hands, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. To the mothers who aren't able to have relationships with their children, to the mothers who have struggled. To those who wish they could be loved by their mothers, but they are gone or are just not able to have that relationship - God sees you all and loves you all more than is early possible. Today we celebrate and honour all of you mothers, your hard work and sacrifice, your love and dedication. We thank God for all of you!

Tomorrow is a very important evening for our Muslim friends. They are presently in the midst of Ramadan and are seeking to please God through prayer and through fasting. Most importantly, this coming Saturday, May 8th is the ‘Laylat al Qadr’, or the Night of Power. This "Night of Power" is considered the most important time of the entire year for Muslims to pray to God, for mercy, for blessings, and for forgiveness of their sins. Please pray that God will answer their prayers and that He will reveal Himself to them in mighty and powerful ways!

His love is truly amazing - how could we keep from singing, from praising His Name?

Do you feel like you are beyond saving? Do you feel like God would drop you if He only knew your heart? Well, He does know your heart. He knows every thought and fear you have and He still says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Call on His name today. Walk in His strength this week.

If you need a worship moment today, this is the song for you! "Come all you sinners, come find His mercy. Come to the table, He will satisfy."

This Sunday is Communion Sunday! And even though this may be an odd Sunday, we can still take communion together virtually. So have your juice and bread ready this Sunday, or make your own bread! Unleavened Bread:... 1 cup all-purpose flour Scant 1/3 cup olive oil Scant 1/3 cup water 1/8 tsp salt Add flour, oil, and salt to a mixing bowl and stir to combine. Add water to mixture and stir with spoon or pastry blender until dough is smooth. Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Roll out to 1/8 thick using a rolling pin and cut into small, bite-sized pieces. Place pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees (F) for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Once cooled, pieces may be stored in an airtight container or Ziploc bag in the freezer for 4 to 6 months. To make Gluten Free Unleavened Bread: 1 cup all-purpose gluten free baking flour blend 1/3 cup butter (can sub coconut oil or a butter substitute to make dairy free) 1 egg cup water 1/8 tsp salt Put flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Use pastry blender to break up butter into small pieces. Add egg and water and use a spoon to mix dough until combined. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Use a rolling pin to roll out dough to 1/8 thickness. Cut into small circles and place pieces on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake in a 425 degree (F) oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned.4 *Note egg is sometimes used to help baking rise. In this case, it acts as a binder, keeping the dough together so that you’re able to roll it out. Finished pieces are VERY similar to a gluten-filled version, with little to no rise.

"But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
