We had our last Artssmarts class yesterday afternoon so it was time to put the final touches on our project and install our display in the school lobby....a helping hand from the principal Randy Reardon came in handy for our flying critters. All other set up was done by the students following some technical instruction and guidance from teacher Gillian Veld, post graduate teacher in training Bethany and myself It is a wonderful display of wildlife habitat, the threats they are facing and an awareness campaign on the two side boards. Well done grade 6, so proud of you!! Class is prepped, another session of fun! Klas is er weer klaar voor, is weer leuk!

The students really got the hang of it.. they are very talented and not afraid to take on something totally new to them. The different techniques, working with KeraCoat in combination with all kinds of textures and working very hands-on comes so easy with this group!!! They now started with creating the habitat for their "Species at risk" We will also make a collage of the threats to wildlife and plants and habitat destruction causes.... All this made possible and so grateful for the funding provided by the Dept. of Education, Early learning and Culture, administered through Artssmarts in cooperation with Englewood school #artssmarts #peicultureactionplan

We are now well underway with the Artssmarts project "Species @ risk on PEI" at Englewood school.
