Dear church friends and family, Tonight, and tomorrow morning, we'll sorely miss being together. That said, we hope our Christmas service, to enjoy this evening or tomorrow morning, can be a blessing to you and your family.... Merry Christmas! https://vimeo.com/494504975
Special Christmas Giving 541 Eatery & Exchange "541 is a cafe that believes everyone deserves access to good food. We give people the opportunity to help someone else pay for their meal by "buying buttons". Each button is worth $1, and anyone can use up to 5 buttons a day from the button jar to buy whatever they would like from the menu. ... We believe there is dignity in choice, and that eating together fosters a diverse community of belonging around the table. We use our space and proceeds from food sales to host free community groups and youth programming." Located at 541 Barton St E, Hamilton, 541 helps so many people in our community. We encourage you to check out their website and please give generously. https://www.fivefortyone.ca/
Our Hamilton neighbours and lovely people at Philpott Memorial Church are hosting a #taize digital retreat this weekend. Check it out! https://www.acommunityofgrace.org/even/advent-taiz-retreat
Tonight! This presentation will look at 3 times the church has responded to pandemics: one each from the ancient church, the church in the Middle Ages and during the Reformation. We’ll consider what Christians were facing in each of those pandemics and how they responded. This won’t offer easy answers for us today, but it should encourage us as we pass through the pandemic we’re facing now.
On December 5th, Drop off some canned goods to support Ancaster Community Services and spread from Christmas cheer!
As we conclude our series on the ruthless elimination of hurry, a good (and relatable) reminder from Eucharist church downtown:
Tithing Tuesday: Chaplaincy and Care Ministry: Chaplains are usually pastors with specialized training who serve in institutional settings, such as schools, prisons, hospitals, hospices, long-term care facilities, counseling centers, industrial and workplace and military installations. As specially trained ministers of the gospel, they seek to encourage others in their relationship with Jesus Christ. They seek to minister to the whole person, addressing not only a person's spiritual needs, but also their physical and emotional needs. Chaplains operate at the cutting edge where ministry and social structures intersect. They provide a caring, human environment in which spiritual guidance can be provided. In so doing they are a part of the professional team within the institution. Please give generously to the work of our Chaplains.
Tithing Tuesdays Ancaster Community Services: Ancaster Community Services Inc. is a registered charity that has linked members of the Ancaster community to services, information, and volunteer opportunities that enhance the quality of life and the overall well-being of the community since 1969.... Ancaster Community Services strives to foster an energized, caring community by connecting people to services and opportunities. Donations go directly to providing food, supplies, counseling, home assistance and more for those most vulnerable in our community. Due to COVID, the need is greater than ever. Thank you for your consideration in donating to this worthy cause.
