When I heard the news of Abe's passing the day after it happened, I was in a state of unbelief. How could someone so full of life and energy be gone so suddenly? Anyone that knows anything about Abe knows that he lived life full throttle. Last fall when I bought Meadows Golf from Abe and Mary, I had the pleasure of spending time with Abe as we loaded up and moved the business to its new location. I remember being impressed with how much he was still like he was 20 years ear...lier when I was part of the construction crew that built the clubhouse at Meadows Golf. Abe was always smiling, nothing seemed to dampen his spirits, and he loved to work. I have never met anyone who could work like he could. 20 years didn't seem to have slowed him down at all. This summer as I was dealing with the loss of my own wife and trying to stay motivated with getting Meadows Amusements set up again, Abe's visits were always a boost of fresh energy for me. He always came full of ideas, lots of good advice and encouragement to keep going. I will miss Abe. He leaves a big empty space, but he also leaves a good testimony and legacy. See more

As some of you may know, Meadows Amusements has moved to a new location under new ownership. Due to the amount of work that goes into a project like this, we will not be open for the 2019 season. We plan to be open for the spring of 2020, and will do our best to post updates as we go along. We are located 2 1/4 miles north of Winkler on hwy 428.
