Last week our centre was invited to partake in a live press conference to call on additional supports and funding from the UCP government for child care centres in order to be better able to help staff and families during these times and ease the burdens that are faced by all.
We hope you all have an amazing day! You deserve it!

There are so many variations to play dough the possibilities are endless! Play dough provides countless opportunities for young children to learn through their senses and enhance their motor skills. A great low cost, easy to make and fun activity any time! Add glitter, spices, sequins, essential oils, cocoa or rolled oats just to name a few alternatives to change textures, enhance the senses or to provide a new and exciting experience!... What are some variations you have tried or would like to try next? #childcare #daycare #preschool #children #education #kids #childcareprovider #earlylearning #earlychildhoodeducation #parenting #learningthroughplay #learning #toddler #earlyyears #toddlers #earlychildhood #parents #child #preschoolactivities #qualitychildcare #toddlerlife #family #childdevelopment #childcarecenter #fun #edmontondaycare #AgesandStages #preschoolers #edmontonmoms
Today is World Health Day. The Kinder room participated in a discussion as to what they thought they could do to stay healthy. Their answers ranged from drinking milk, running/exercising and eating their fruits and vegetables
Congratulations to both Sacha and Aly for a job well done in the November staff challenge! The ladies presented a unique activity that incorporated parent involvement, diversity and various learning opportunities within. Upon compiling their research in terms of individual ethnicities and backgrounds, the Kinders mapped out their home roots and their journeys to Edmonton. Along the way they learned of their differences, the various cultures as well as different places arou...nd the world! Well done ladies! We would also like to congratulate Sacha on a job well done earning the November Employee of the Month Award of Excellence! Sacha has been outstanding in lending a hand around the centre as well as maintaining a fun and organized environment for her Kinder class! Her ability to change up her inviting play spaces and environment goes above and beyond regularly allowing for many valuable learning outcomes for the children! Sacha earned a $100 gift card to dress up her classroom further as well as a $50 lululemon gift card for herself! Thank you so much Sacha! Well deserved!

This morning the office was taken over (Director Kari enjoys her little helpers every once in awhile) This little one was very good at giving direction, rearranging the desk and calculating numbers
When children show interest in doing things for themselves they are strengthening their independence and confidence. Self help skills build social and emotional competence and promote personal hygiene. Skills such as dressing, tidying and independent feeding help to enhance both gross (large muscle) and fine (small muscle) motor skill development in a variety of ways.
Each month we incorporate staff challenges within our Employee Training and Professional Development Program. The educators were encouraged to add even further creativity to their programs by coming up with unique provocations within their daily programming. Provocations encourage young children to explore their world around them and teach them to think independently based on their interests. Congratulations to our winners for their brilliant creativity! All of the children in each of the classrooms had a lot of fun learning about a variety of topics over the past month!
Have a Safe and Happy Halloween Everyone!
Stay tuned this weekend to see all of the Halloween Fun from today! In the meantime, today we had the opportunity to go around and spread some Halloween cheer to all of our wonderful and dedicated educators for all of their time and the hard work they do each and every day! We would also like to congratulate our Nursery Educator Aryn! Aryn is our employee of the month of October. Her dedication towards providing the highest quality of care for all of our little ones is commendable! She has gone above and beyond each and every day and she continually strives for excellence in all that she does! Thank you Aryn for all that you do!
