When I decided to hold a fundraiser for the community centre I saw this type of idea on another site, I had contacted the admin and was told that because it was donation based a license was not required. I just got off the phone with NS Alcohol and Holy crap that woman was WRONG. So sadly, last week was the last of the giftcard grab I want to thank each & every person who helped support the centre & inturn the local retailers Thanks again, it truly meant a lot Oh, and beware of any type of draw..they are all considered a lottery

The giftcard grab is cancelled until further notice. If you have dropped off your donation for this week, no worries it will be returned.(Phone calls being made this evening to contact donors) Just so that there are no "stories" started, apparently someone has called NS Alcohol & Gaming questioning this fundraiser & due to this call the ladies darts were unable to obtain a license for a ticket draw they want to hold. I personally don't hold any official position within our community centre and have only been trying to help with funding during the pandemic. All funds donated are accounted for 50 spots x $20 =$1000 ($750 in giftcards to the winner and $250 donated to the Centre) I have a call into NS Alcohol & Gaming to clarify this so hopefully this will be cleared up soon Haters gonna hate
