Let's play a game on this dreary Wednesday. You know what to do: colour, or black and white?
I'll never get tired of the magic created by a backlit image. Just a touch of light behind Michelle and Andrew adds a little whimsy in this enchanted forest.
There will never be a day like the day your baby was born. Mother's Day is just around the corner. Looking for a gift? Why not give the gift of memories. I have gift certificates available in any denomination.
Hit the road and headed north last night to watch the Aurora Borealis. Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in shortly after sunset so there was no dancing aura and only a few stars. It was a frosty night, and even frostier for my dog, who went for a blue hour dip and came out with icicles forming.
NEW BLOG POST So, you're supposed to be getting married in 2021? Congratulations! Now, take a deep breath, and go for it! Don't look back and have no regrets! Here's some reasons why you shouldn't let COVID-19 ruin your wedding.

My photography studio will remain closed as the Ontario government announces the lockdown for Northern Ontario will be extended until January 23. I respect and fully support this decision as COVID-19 spreads rampantly throughout the province and within the City of Sault Ste. Marie. Please, stay home and stay safe.
When Everett is home from daycare, it means I dress him up in funny outfits and take photos. Sorry, kiddo, this is your life. Can you believe this little snow bunny is going to be two on Sunday?! Time flies!
I blinked and you're two! I wish you the happiest of birthdays, my sweet, baby boy, Everett. You're growing up so fast. In the past year, you took your first steps, and now you run. You spoke your first words, and now you can form sentences and count. You explore. You wonder. You create. You love. Your imagination is boundless. Your laugh is contagious. Your smile illuminates (even in a pandemic). The world is yours for the taking. You've brought me endless happiness, my boy, and for that, I am forever grateful. I love you. You are forever my rainbow at the end of the storm.
Well, I've finished editing the last of my lifestyle sessions from 2020 and now just have a wedding left. Lockdown 2.0 ends on Saturday (maybe, hopefully... who knows ) and I'm ready to get back behind the camera, complete with a new lens. And if we're stuck in lockdown a little longer, I've got the cutest subject to photograph anyways.
That feeling you get when you're nearing the end of editing all of your 2020 sessions. Home stretch! One wedding left and three sessions.
I'm beyond thrilled to announce that with the help of our generous community, we raised $3,000 for the Sault Area Hospital Foundations NICU through my Santa digital fundraiser. I created 232 Santa digitals in the month of December. Your contributions - no matter how big or how small - go directly toward helping Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma's tiniest and newest members. Thank you to everyone who donated and made this fundraiser a tremendous success. The NICU will forever have a special place in my heart, and I know, many in our community feel the same. Thank you!
What are you doing during Lockdown 2.0? I'm sitting on my butt, editing photos, binging Riverdale on Netflix, and maybe having too infrequent of showers. That's the fun of staying home. I'm doing my part, are you? PS: this photo was taken in the parking lot of The Grand Gardens. Who knew parking lots were so beautiful?!
If you don't know what bushwhacking is, are you really a northerner? The dogs and I went off trail today to enjoy the fresh powder. Naturally, Mister had to strike a pose.
Someone's excited for his first visit from Santa next month. Will he wear pants for Santa's visit? No one knows.
I had a few families in the studio today to test out my Christmas mini setup. Everything went flawlessly and I've got some new ideas to perfect the setup for the 70 sessions happening in the next few weeks. Olivia and her fam jam were my first testers.
These two braved the snow, sub-zero temperatures, and wind for some wintery maternity photos. Worth it? I think so. How stunning is Marisa is the Chicaboo Harper gown with boho ruffle?!
October is over. Now give me all of those moody November skies, skeleton trees, and gusty winds. This is my favourite time of year to photograph. Pictured here is the Convertible Chicaboo gown in butter.
Such a beautiful new family.
Emerson was the second baby I had in the studio. He's so teeny-tiny and oh so sleepy. He made me one happy photographer.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends! It may be very, very different than Thanksgivings past, but I'm sure we can all find things to be thankful for. I wish you all the best of days and hope you can find something to smile today. I'm thankful for my little ray of sunshine on this cloudy day. I'm thankful for my loving family, my health, the roof over my head, and food on my table. I'm thankful for my family, near and far, who remain untouched by this virus. I'm thankful to have a booming business in a pandemic and looming economic crisis. I'm thankful for my friends and my clients, who help me laugh and smile each day. I'm thankful for having a happy heart and a healthy mind.
Happy Hallowe'en from everyone's favourite little red monster! I hope you have a safe, happy, and healthy spooky night, however you may be celebrating!
A public service announcement from Everett: "If you're going out for Hallowe'en, be sure to cover up. You don't want your bits getting cold."
I had too much fun with Luisa and Rob tonight and I cannot wait for their wedding next year. These two have so much chemistry and are in front of the camera!
Happy Froggy Friday from a very sleepy Brielle.
The cutest siblings.
That moment before the kiss
Grandma and Grandpa have a lot to be thankful for this year.
There's so much joy in this photo.
I'm on a marathon of editing right now! But this shot from the Casola wedding back in August stopped me in my tracks. How adorable is this crew?!
It’s that time of year again! Vote for your favourite Sault Ste. Marie photographer! Question number 127 pertains to photographers. Happy voting, friends!

And last but not least, two of my favourites, Tiffany and Emmett being all cute!
Owen had a blast at the farm!

Hard to tell if Mason is more excited for the cows or the rocks he is collecting.
Christmas mini dates will be posted soon! Here's this year's setup, modelled by the cutest boy there ever was.
And here comes the last of the farm mini sneak peaks! First up, my cousin Carter! I couldn't decide which I prefer better, so help me decide! Colour, or black and white?
A few more veil photos of blushing bride Candace because why not.
There's always plenty of laughs when I photograph this crew.
Little Miss Harper celebrated her first birthday on Tuesday! She was all smiles on Sunday in anticipation for the big milestone!
