We are continuing to support local restaurants with your donations, and delivering these meals to frontline heroes supporting vulnerable populations. This morning’s delivery was a first to Covenant House, the largest youth shelter in Canada, serving youth who are homeless, trafficked, or at risk. Partner profile Meals TO Heal was created to support our favourite local restaurants in the Toronto community, while putting a smile on the health heroes working tirelessly. We’ve been humbled by the generosity from our restaurant partners during these tough times, and wanted to share some of their stories with you here’s a snippet from @daniel_chaim18 at @edorestaurants on his involvement and the impact of COVID-19 on his family business ... The COVID-19 pandemic impacted our business, EDO, by an unscalable amount. One entire side of our company, EDO Sushi Catering, went from having multiple deliveries and events per day to absolute zero With the forced reduction in business, we’ve been focusing our man power on ‘house work’, so when this is all over and we can get back to ‘normal’ whatever the new normal may look like we’ll have a shiny new look with the best tech around and staff that are ready to rock some stellar service because they’re standing on rock solid foundation. [Upon hearing of Meals TO Heal] I immediately wrote to Divij and asked how I could help and if EDO could do participate. Within a few days we agreed to provide 100 meals to Mount Sinai Hospital. My staff offered to volunteer their time to making these meals so that we could provide as much food as we could to the front line workers. A big part of our company’s values has always been support for our community. Our hearts are filled with hope and gratitude because of the incredible support we have received back from all of these amazing groups and our community. We want to help spread the word to help increase their donations so they can get more partners and provide more meals to those who need it most right now.
