POSITION NOTICE POSITION No. 22-009 Applications are invited for the following position: AREA:Clinical Services, In-Centre... CLASSIFICATION: Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA)/Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - PFT CUPE Bargaining unit POSITION SCOPE:Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the employee supports the work of the Physiotherapist, Speech Language Pathologist, and/or Occupational Therapist(s) using a client and family-centered approach in accordance with KRRC’s Mission, Vision, and Values and established policies and procedures. The employee is assigned specific duties by the supervising clinical staff to support designated programs and services and benefit KRRC clients. QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant/ Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA-PTA) Program at the community college level. Education/experience as a Communication Disorders Technician (CDT) is considered a major asset. Previous experience as a PTA/OTA or CDT, in residential settings an asset. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, and/or behavioral challenges considered an asset. With the change in forecast for Saturday, we are heading roadside to 5573 County Home Road (the corner of HWY 1 and County Home Road, adjacent ...to the youth centre) this afternoon from 1-3:30, to start our Mother's Day Sale early! Fear not, we are still going to be there tomorrow from 8:30-3:30 if you can't make it out today! For those who have placed online orders with pickups for today, we will see you at 5573 County Home Road (the corner of HWY 1 and County Home Road, adjacent to the youth centre) from 1:30-3:30. To ensure we can keep up with demand, our website is CLOSED now until Saturday at 6PM.

Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre has vocational programs here at the Centre, which provide opportunities for the clients to maintain meaningful lives, and engage in new opportunities! One work program is seasonally, working in The House of Sprouts. The House of Sprouts is a staff supported client run commercial scale greenhouse! Clients have the opportunity to work in the Greenhouse from seed to full plant, and also support with retail. Some of the duties include but are... not limited to: - Watering - Planting - Transplanting - Planting in the outdoor garden - Fertilizing - Weeding - Retail support This is just one of many opportunities here at KRRC! They have their own Facebook page, head on over to "House of Sprouts Greenhouse" and give their page like! They will soon be venturing out to start planting and preparing for the gardening season!
