Martha MacLean was in this morning...her smiling, chatty, bubbly self buzzing around...wiping, cleaning, vacuuming, mopping...and the sneaky gal she is, left treats for our Communications Officers without so much as a photo op An incredibly kind gesture, that will no doubt be enjoyed by everyone! Happy NPSTW!!
PAPEI takes great care of our Comms Officers each year during NPSTW with a fantastic goodie basket! Vicky Blacquiere, Paramedic/former Communications Officer Tara Vasil Hasey and Amy Bowers-Keefe
When you call 911, while you only speak to one person, that single point of contact for you is working collaboratively as part of an incredible team! A complex call to 911 that involves a multi-agency response requires contribution from all members of the team! Each calltaker/dispatcher depends on their teammates for insight, direction and assistance. Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success!... Cheers to our teams during NPSTW! Brad MacIsaac Amy Bowers-Keefe See more
The sign says it all! Not every day or every call leaves our employees feeling like Super Heroes, but they’re here for every emergency! That may even include assisting with CPR & AED instructions during a sudden cardiac arrest! Happy Public Safety Telecommunications Week 2021! #NPSTW ... https://www.peicanada.com//article_2150e5c4-9313-11eb-bbe9
Every year, during the second week of April, Public Safety Telecommunications personnel are celebrated with National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. These faceless voices are the first point of contact in an emergency, the true First Responder...the unseen hero. Their job is a complicated one - it is exciting, it is rewarding, it is fulfilling; but it is also stressful, exhausting and often thankless. They are the vital link between the public and emergency responder...s. Much has changed within our 4 walls over the years, but the dedication and professionalism of this special group of men and women remains constant! They have allowed us to continue to offer top quality service to the public and the first responders we work with on a daily basis. This week we celebrate each and every one of our Communications Center employees and thank you for your service to Islanders. To our counterparts at Charlottetown Police Services, RCMP L Division OCC and Summerside Police Services - we celebrate you and thank you for your collaboration on a daily basis. See more

This week, Paramedics across Canada are being celebrated during Paramedic Services Week. This year's theme, "Pandemic: Paramedics on the Front Line", is a fitting tribute to the men and women who have faced the unknown shift after shift during this pandemic. To the paramedics at Island EMS, your dispatchers salute you! While you may not be able to celebrate in traditional ways, we want you to know that your work is appreciated - thank you!
