Today, Seyran Atea Turkish-German lawyer, feminist, and one of the first female imams in Europeis fighting for a sexual revolution within Islam. She has received two fatwas, three bullets in her neck, numerous death threats, and has to live under constant police protection as a result. Seyran believes the only way to fight against radical Islam is through Islam. In her liberal mosque, there is no gender segregation or exclusion based on sexual orientation. Seyran Ates: Sex, Revolution & Islam is the story of Seyran’s personal and ideological fight for the modernization of Islam. Her quest for change takes her on a journey worldwide, meeting with different people connected through faith, from sex workers in a German brothel to LGBTQ youth in Uyghur to traditional female imams in China. It is a journey through Seyran’s life, from her humble beginnings as a Muslim girl in the slums of Turkey to becoming a female leader daring to challenge her religion and rebel against extremism in the name of peace and love.

I’M WITH HARRISON Directed by: John Fiege | 2020 | 4 min | USA Harrison Guy became the first Black gay man named the Houston Pride Parade's Grand Marshal. I'm With Harrison tells the story of Harrison and the community-building skills he learned growing up in a small Black community outside Houston.

Good afternoon everyone! Pride board is finalizing the process of gaining our NPO status again. However, it has lapsed for a couple years now sadly. With that some issues came up and we’ve learned some new things. Unfortunately, we will have to change the name of Medicine Hat Pride Association to something new. We are very sorry for everyone currently working on our logo contest in case they had the name or acronym as part of it. This was an unforeseen road bump we are quick...ly trying to resolve. We have gone ahead and shortlisted a few possible names to check for availability. Due to last years response we will NOT be using Sun City as any part of the name. For the two most common reasons; a) it shares resemblance to a Pride association south of us. b) no responders felt much, if any connection to the name. We will keep you all updated. Support groups are popping up for our LGBTQ+ community by other groups in the city who have shown us support in the past. This one is just getting going but feel free to message them for details!... Medicine Hat Pride Association is having a logo competition!! If you're a creative individual, we'd love to see what kind of unique ideas you have for us.
