Check out this creative fundraiser for the Medicine Hat Kinsmen Club . They've been huge supporters of the MHSA including donating $79,000 to the Kinsmen Skate Plaza and $20,000 to the McCoy spot. Show them some love by purchasing a DUCK!!! Plus . . . the finish line is right by the Kinsmen Skate Plaza!
A huge shout out to Town of Redcliff for investing in our youth with this $425,000 project. Excited for the opening in June!!! #skateboard
Our team had the privilege of joining up with the Miywasin Friendship Centre to recognize missing and murdered indigenous woman and girls. Our team wore red and skated from the Medicine Hat College Cultural Centre to the World's Largest Teepee, Medicine Hat AB. It was an opportunity to learn about and honor those who have suffered. And to help spread the word about the many lives that have been lost #medhat #skatersmakingadifference #skatersagainsttrafficking Brenda Mercer (narrating)
It was a privilege to join Miywasin Friendship Centre by wearing red and skating to the teepee for the May 5 Memory of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Day. Thanks to the Medicine Hat News for helping to raise awareness of the lives that have been lost #medhat #skatersmakingadifference
May 5th marks the awareness day for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. There have been approximately 4,000 or more Indigenous murdered or missing women and girls in the last 30 years. That works out to about 133 a year, or three a week. This May 5th the MHSA is going to be dressed in red and skating to raise awareness. The Miywasin Friendship Centre will be at the kinsmen skatepark handing out buttons to raise awareness at 4pm. The public is welcome to join us as we depart the Kinsmen Skate Plaza to the teepee.
This is the sad reality for other parks in Alberta who are closing. The MHSA is so thankful for the generosity of Tim Hortons. Medicine Hat, Alta. Tim Hortons and Eagles Nest Ranch for their generosity by making this space available and allowing us to keep our doors opened during these times. And to the numerous donors including the recent $1000 donation for building by the Medicine Hat Realtors Charitable Foundation - MHRCF The Medicine Hat Skateboard Assoc can't operate without the generosity of our community, the support of our SkateSkool parents, and our skate crew. THANK YOU. #medhat #skateboard
The MHSA would like to say a huge thank you to the Medicine Hat Realtors Charitable Foundation - MHRCF for their generous donation of $1000 to Bay3 Indoor Skateboard Park for ramp construction. Sometimes our community amazes us. We were looking for a few boards to give to our skate team for an event. Checked out @zumiezmedicinehat We didnt have the budget to pick up the three decks we needed. The staff at the store pulled out their own wallets and each purchased a board for our crew. This is what community is all about. #medhat #skateboard #skatersmakingadifference #thankful @zumiez

https://www.facebook.com/events/618435135727612?__mref=mb This has been a tragic week for our skateboard community. Brayden Nunweiller passed away last week-end. From so many that knew Brayden, we've heard stories this week about his concern for people and his willingness to help and his generosity. Our thoughts and prayers go out to so many friends and to Brayden's family during this time. This Sunday a "Skate 4 Nunweiller" has been organized. Meeting at the Arena at 10:...00am on Sunday. Come out and celebrate Brayden's life. Please feel free to post any photos or memories on this post. #medhat #skateboard

Hey Med Hat, we are so excited to see people out enjoying the re-opened Medicine Hat Kinsmen Club Skate Plaza in this beautiful weather! Thank you to the City of Medicine Hat and Mayor Ted Clugston for making the call to allow our safe use of this one-of-a-kind place again. We just want to remind everyone that getting our skate park back comes with some responsibilities. We need to be safe and practice a few key things: 1). don't come to the park if you're feeling sick! 2).... Practice social distancing at all times (2 m apart). If you're 12 or under it's recommended that you have supervision. 3). No spitting to reduce the risk of any virus getting passed around! 4). Clean up after yourself and 5). use hand sanitizer! Hope we can all show that we care about one another, and care about keeping the skate park open, by following these simple rules.
Check out the CHAT TV Medicine Hat story about the MHSA statement on opening the Kinsmen Skate Plaza
Should our skatepark be opened? This morning, the Mayor mentioned the Medicine Hat playgrounds and skatepark possibly being able to open soon!
