Media That Matters 21.06.2021

This was a fun project to put together, especially given the time we are currently living in. Our new work with Ontario Health, Long Term Care Ontario, and Hamilton Health Sciences will be releasing soon. Thanks to our incredible team for helping pull this creative piece together! NEW WORK ALERT A good frame. If I could go back in time to when I first started working in film, I think I’d laugh.... and be slightly embarrassed. I had no idea what made up a good frame. I mean, I knew it when I saw something I liked, but I had no idea how to make that into reality. Fast forward to working in the film industry for nearly 18 years and I’m still learning what makes a good frame. I think that’s what makes this stuff so appealing to me.... seeing something I... love and trying to achieve that look or idea in reality. A couple of constants that I’ve learned about making great content is vision and team. If you have those, your half way there. This new work released today, in partnership with @redeemer_u is a project I’m really proud to release. First, a great client with whom we have great relationship and trusted us to bring a vision to life. Second, our team, who I can’t even begin to tell you how ridiculously talented each and every person is on our crew. This piece is one of many we dreamed up over a year ago as Redeemer was wrestling through their new brand identity. We wanted to bring the idea of education to life through simple concepts executed really well, and I’m proud of what we accomplished. In a year of uncertainty and unpredictability I’m honoured to work on projects with heart and a team that gives it everything they have! We will be releasing some BTS vids and Photos of this project over the next few days, so stay tuned for more. Here’s to a year of continuously striving to wrestle down great ideas into a frame! We have some pretty intense stories we will be releasing shortly. This past year has taught us a lot about how to shoot scenes with delicate subject matter, and to be honest, it’s something I feel like we will constantly continue to learn as we grow. A couple quick take aways I’ll share with you all is limiting the amount of people in the space, the number of voices (as in who’s giving direction) and lastly a team you trust, that GET what it is you are there to do. This scene you see above was an intense dramatic reenactment of someone dealing with addiction. It was intense, but our talent crushed it and the guys you see in the room @adamgriffiths_dp and @scottytaylor are a couple of the best to have in the room for moments like this. We can’t wait to share the whole story with you soon! - @tylerdeanjohnston

Stories are wildly complex. It doesn’t matter if it’s your own personal story, your businesses story, each and every one is far reaching. Our job, as storytellers, is to take this overly complex story (with a million rabbit holes) and figure out how to strip it down to its key parts. But if that wasn’t hard enough, we have to find ways to make those few parts feel creatively engaging, while maintaining authenticity, as well as figure out transitions and piecing the story toge...ther so that it makes sense. (Oh and we have to do that on budget and timelines... etc etc.) REAL storytelling is tough. It’s not something you just wake up one day and do... or teach... rather it is built through years of experiences and wrestling with how to make each story unique and stand out. It’s finding new ways to tell stories and how to draw out the BEST story that may be deep within. People ask us all the time what we do.... well that’s what we do. We fight / wrestle / learn / re-learn / apply / create / and hopefully somewhere in there find and tell a great story.... and then we make it look cool. But don’t be fooled, for a great story is a simple story, and a simple story.... well... there’s no such thing! Ok... back to work! - @tylerdeanjohnston See more

We have partnered with Redeemer University for many years now, and working with them to bring their new brand to life is definitely a highlight. We were honoured to play a small role in their rebrand, and know this will be a great success story for them for years to come. There were so many people involved in the making of these assets and campaign, so we won't list them all, but you know who you are. Check out the teaser vid below, and there is lots more to come!
