If you are a female who is eager to inspire young girls to stay in sport by coaching, one of the first modules we recommend is Keeping Girls in Sport offered th...rough Canadian Women & Sport. You'll learn how to create safe and respectful environments for girls to participate in sport and physical activity with this e-module for coaches and activity leaders, developed by Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities in partnership with Canadian Women & Sport and the Coaching Association of Canada. Studies have repeatedly shown that during adolescence, girls drop out of sport at a significantly higher rate than boys 41 per cent of girls between the ages of 3 and 17 don’t participate in sport, and as girls enter adolescence, their overall participation rate drops by 22 per cent. In this e-module, coaches and activity leaders will build their understanding of how to address common motivators and barriers for girls and ultimately keep them engaged in sport. This e-module is offered online for only $20. Register at: https://womenandsport.ca//e-learning/keeping-girls-in-spo/

Huge Congratulations to local fastball player, Mia Kelly! Today was signing day! She is off to play Div 1 softball at Salt Lake Community College in Utah in the fall! Mia has played softball for 7 years primarily as a pitcher. Don’t think her fastball is her only strength as Mia is an absolute utility player on the infield! Her most recent teams were the U19B Thunder & Eagle Butte High School house team. Mia played ASG both 2016 & 2018 and was the MHMSA 2018 Thunder Playe...r of the year. Mia has been an an ambassador of our softball program for years, sharing her time and passion. We are so proud of her hard work and determination and know her future is very bright! Congratulations Mia! Pictured are the Kelly family & Mia’s pitching coach Dianna Jordison
