Happy Rescue anniversary! We are a bit late but, last week marked Lola's 3rd rescue anniversary with The Keepers! Lola was found Frozen to the ground in Ottawa on New years day 2018. She has become one of our best ambassador since her arrival! Shredding for fun Parrots love to forage all day BUT sometimes they injoy making a mess by shredding food while you stand below them! Watch our blue and gold macaw "Franky" shred his favorite treat. Blue and gold macaws have 500-700 psi of pressure in their beak which gives them an easy access to hard nuts and fruits in the wild!... We strongly encourage individuals to do their research prior to adopting/ purchasing a parrot. They demand alot of care, have an extremely long lifespand and are quite the messy eaters!

Charlotte and Mila Our lion head rabbit "Charlotte" and our holland lopped rabbit Mila were caught snuggling together . Although naturally solitary animals, some rabbits can bond to others in human care. Charlotte was an owner surrender while Mila was rescued from a hoarding case. Little Keeper on the way - May 2021 The Keepers are so very happy and exited to announce that we are expecting a little one in May 2021! Many of you know that we have been going through the foster and adoptions programs for the last three years due to infertility. Although our pregnancy remains high risk, we remain optimistic. We still plan on adopting and that will not change! We have been gifted with a child of our own, despite all odds, and we couldn't be happier! ... After raising more than 1200 animals, it is our turn to raise our own. It must be like raising a monkey right!? We share this news with our Keeper's family as you have all played a part in our life these past 4.5 years. We love you all and look forward to having you tag along for this new chapter of our lives. On the road we go! 4h30am start this morning for a long day of transporting animals to their forever homes in Toronto and Montreal. We will also be rescuing a 100lbs spurthigh tortoise in Laval on our way back. Days like these may be long but oh so worth it!
