We are in our minds soooooo often. What shld I wear. What shld I eat. What mood am I in. As an artist I am thinking lately... how am I to be original if my original came from liking that style of work? Then... what colours do I like? What technique? What medium? & the ever indulgent... WILL SOMEONE LIKE IT... BUY IT? Etc etc etc etc.... What if we just painted or just resined with a full & open heart? As @callenschaub (paraphrased/not exact words) says we shld be giving the critics or haters LOVE Cus they need it the most. But I also say... we the artists, the ones completing the work, need to just DO the work for ourselves. Because we friggin want to. I’ve been painting again. B/c for me, it’s calming. Buuuuut, I also don’t have enough walls or space, so one day I will show them & sell them. Not for praise (like when I was a fitness instructor). Not for attention (b/c I craved it so badly for so long). But b/c I am AN ARTIST, & my art deserves a home who will appreciate it. Sure, becoming a well known artist sounds interesting. But it is no longer MY goal. My goal is the feels & love that my piece brings. Painting & resin design, makes me feel calm. It’s when I feel so focused. Heya!!! I tht it was about time to introduce myself. I am a Mompreneur located in the Comox Valley. I preserve bouquets & other special flowers in epoxy resin. With added special care I preserve loved ones, including fur~baby ashes.... Also, putting into decor presentation, vacation tokens, handwritten notes, memorial pieces & the list goes on. Encapsulating memories in the best possible way. As of March 1st I’ll be taking reservations for custom bouquet preservation.
