We have a holiday announcement: Two generous donors have promised a total of $3,000 in matching funds for donations to CAMPP during the next month. That means all donations towards our legal expenses (up to $3,000) will be automatically doubled. There are several ways to support our legal campaign. We accept cheques and etransfers, or you can donate to our GoFundMe.... https://camppwindsoressex.blogspot.com//this-christmas-hel
We agree: The status quo is not an option! Local leaders promote inspiring messages about combatting climate change and improving community health. Yet, with the new hospital location, they are openly planning for a more car-dependent future. You may have seen the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit's (WECHU) new social media campaign. It encourages walking, biking and public transit. These activities positively impact both personal and community health, and the climate.... https://camppwindsoressex.blogspot.com//we-agree-status-qu
"In the interest of openness and transparency, the planning committee should reveal their evolving proposal. I feel it would be in their best interests to divulge their plans to the community to gain support. Or is it?"

"Build-it-and-they-will-come transit is no better than build-it-and-they-will-come highways. Both are a risky gamble with sketchy results, particularly for local governments... Instead of transit-oriented development, we should have development-oriented transit: Identify places where things are happening now and then connect them with the lowest level of viable transit possible." https://www.strongtowns.org//why-development-oriented-tran?
Windsor's Worst Planning Mistake Ever - https://mailchi.mp/9d4a4edf6f94/motion
"The plain and simple truth is this: people from communities from which significant infrastructure is being removed have not been properly consulted, nor considered. An informal opinion poll from the recent telephone town halls, where wards 2 and 3 were glaringly left out, does not qualify as a representative sample of our population. With the amount of disinvestment in core neighbourhoods over the last several decades, including school closures, entertainment venues, major r...oad projects and the partial or full removal of community centres, it is no wonder their voices have not been properly constituted in these decision-making spaces." https://windsorstar.com//guest-column-hospital-location-no
CAMPP has produced a new report for the Council meeting next Monday. Read it at the link below. It is comprehensive. It offers a perspective on the issues that many may not have previously considered. A vote in favour of Monday’s motion (Item 15) will support Windsor’s worst planning mistake ever.... We encourage all of Windsor's councillors to vote no. https://windsormegahospital.weebly.com//windsors_worst_pla
