Three reasons why a walk-in refrigerator isn’t cooling properly. 1. Faulty temperature control settings This is the first thing to check when there is a temperature issue. Were the temperature settings on your refrigerator changed in error? If so, reset it to the right temperature. If the unit is still not cooling down correctly, you will need to consult an appliance repair professional. ... 2. Condenser or evaporator fan issue If the condenser fan is not running at the same time as the compressor, it won’t be able to keep the compressor and condenser coils cool and the refrigerator will have trouble reaching cold temperatures. The evaporator fan is responsible for blowing cold air inside the refrigerator. If there isn’t a physical obstruction causing the fans not to spin, the fan motors may need replacing. 3. Broken door gasket If the gasket isn’t properly sealed, cold air will escape from the unit - making it harder, and sometimes impossible, for the refrigerator to maintain a consistently cold temperature. This might need fixing or replacing. Megatec is here for all your commercial and residential kitchen appliance needs. Contact us today at https://megatec.ca/contact.html
Many of the most important innovations in today's dining-out paradigm were introduced years or even decades ago. Check out these six before-their-time inventions.
Here are some interesting predictions on what’s to come and how to prepare for a post-pandemic world, according to foodservice research experts.
Five Ways to Save Time in the Kitchen - According to Professional Chefs 1. Stop peeling veggies This will cut down on prep time, the peels are super nutritious (and delicious), and it helps alleviate food waste... 2. Chop produce at one time Chopping enough onions, celery, and carrots for the week will save you an immense amount of prep time for meals. Just leave anything that might spoil such as potatoes and avocados. 3. Invest in a good knife set. It’s amazing how much quicker food prep is when you have the right knife for the right vegetable. Plus sharp knives makes chopping food easier and faster. 4. Clean up as you go Most chefs recommended cleaning as you go - which is actually easier than it sounds and worth it in the end. For example, keeping a trash bowl - for scraps or garbage items - nearby while cooking and prepping ingredients saves you a trip to the trash, improves workflow, and helps you cook more efficiently. 5. Turn the oven on first Before you start the cooking process, make sure your oven is fired, pans are heating, or water is coming to a boil. Then, when you’re ready to cook, there’s no unnecessary waiting around - which can double the time it takes to make a meal!
These turkey-to-go packages feature a lineup of classic dishes that will satisfy everyone’s holiday cravings without the commitment to hours in the kitchen. Partial proceeds from packages sold will go directly to Mission Possible, a Vancouver non-profit organization which supports vulnerable people in the city.
Check out this unique dining experience that also shines a spotlight on local artists, musicians and a variety of restaurants in Calgary. Indeed, pop-up restaurants were one of the top five restaurant trends of 2019, and could have the potential to grow in popularity during the pandemic.
Throughout the pandemic, this Burnaby restaurant has demonstrated continued innovation as they have adapted their business strategies - introducing new features such as an online grocery store, an online market, offering DIY meal and drink kits, and even opening a couple of ghost kitchens!
Three Common Issues With Commercial Fryers Pilot Problems The first place to check if you’re having issues with the pilot light of your fryer is the main gas supply valve. The valve should be open so it can supply gas to the pilot light. There may be a clog or air in the supply line if it’s open but the pilot light isn’t working.... Blocked Burners If your burners only partially light up or won’t light at all, the burner orifices might get clogged due to buildup of grease, food particles, dust and debris. To remedy this, run a stiff brush over the burners - this should help unclog the orifices. If the issue persists, the problem could be low or inconsistent gas pressure. Damaged fuel lines may be causing this issue if you have sufficient fuel supply. Thermostat Malfunction The thermostat controls the fryer’s oil temperature. It also monitors the heat transfer between the heating equipment and the fryer basket and cuts off the process when the oil reaches a specific temperature. This ensures that the oil is the ideal temperature at all times, based on the food you’re cooking. If the thermostat is not working properly, the oil can either get too hot - causing overly hard or crispy food. Alternatively, the oil may not get hot enough - causing soggy or overly oily food. Resetting your thermostat may help, but if it’s broken you’ll need a professional to install a new one for your fryer. Whether you need a commercial deep fryer repair, appliance upgrade or planned maintenance, MegaTec has you covered. Contact us today at https://megatec.ca/services/cooking.html.
