@rachel_rib & Kyle's wedding was at their family friends' beautiful mansion in Langley! Their intimate ceremony was outdoors beside their home, and their reception dinner was in the same area, but then their first dance was next door where the parking area was, which was made over with a ton of balloons attached to lanterns and twinkle lights. I photographed Tiffany & Terence’s gorgeous maternity session on April 23rd at Cypress Falls Park in West Van!! Her due date was May 9th so we decided to go ahead with the shoot as she really wanted photos before she gave birth! Which is a good thing we did photograph when we did as 2 days later she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Eli! They are such a fun couple and very active-so have no doubt that they are the best parents ever! I had visited this place about ...a year ago and remember it being simply majestic. So it was my idea to photograph there, and she loved the idea! It has a ton of tall cypress trees with moss on the top, and moss on the rocks as well, and a giant rocky turquoise waterfall surrounded by green trees and a wooden bridge! We had about 3 weeks of travel time outside of our elopement @__whereisjoe -so we definitely wanted to make the most of it, and wanted to see as much variety in landscape as possible. So we decided on Chile as we had never been before and loved the beauty of the rest of SA-and REALLY glad we picked Chile! The morning after our wedding we flew down south to Punta Arenas. Then did a boat tour to the Magdalena island where the penguins live in their natural habitat with a t...on of fluffy grey babies! It was so cute! They are such characters! I took so many funny photos of them. There were hundreds of borrows that they made because of the wind . Had such an fun time at Blanca's family shoot this first weekend of November ! She decided on Deer Lake park in Burnaby, as she really enjoyed it, and of course I have fond memories of all the photoshoots I have done there. This was my first photoshoot there in the autumn and it was so breathtaking with all the different colours of trees! It's definitely my fav season for sure! We are super thankful that we eloped when we did and didn't have to reschedule it for another date, as we would've never met our new friends like our hair/makeup artists who attended our intimate ceremony. Our good friend @mattgreenphotography photographed our elopement with @__whereisjoe on January 11, 2020 in @huilohuilo_reservabiologica, Chile!! That was almost a year ago now, time flies! It's an incredibly unique hotel that reminds me of where the Lord of the Rings... was filmed with bizarre looking buildings like a mushroom shaped one that has water shooting out of the top which is covered in moss. The building we got married at looks like a carousel, and inside the spiral staircase goes on forever! It's a perfect balance of urban and nature. I was researching different spots in South America and then after I stumbled upon this hotel I just knew the decision had been already made, I immediately loved it there and knew it would be perfect! We are super elated how everything turned out. I had the most breathtaking day photographing a styled shoot on October 23rd in Pemberton with Carin from @whisteriadesignandrentals! We decided to use one of Carin's good friends to model for us @checkthatchic, and then we used @reelathletesagency For the male model- @jsfrancais. Carin was also photographing that day @carinsmolinskiphotography, and the gorgeous grey overlay lace gown from @isabelles_bridal! The handwritten calligraphy stationery was @bykim__. The beautifu...l autumn bouquet and florals were done by @withintheflowers. We photographed at someone's home with these unique small wood cottages. This stunning couple photo the bride is looking down with her flower crown, and feathers going off to one side. My NEW HD book is published!!! For those of you who didn't know about my Huntington Disease Trials and Triumphs book first came out, the purpose of the project was to show different people, each at various stages of the disease. Showcasing the family alongside the person who has been diagnosed is important as the disease affects everyone who is involved. It's definitely about awarnessness as well as a lot of people still don't know what HD is. That is why I photographed... updates for several families in Ontario, Alberta, and BC so far. Since I started my HD book 6 people have passed away that I have photographed! Which is just horrible having to loose all those people that I was so close to! Speaking of people I was close with, Damion passed away on February 13th, 2015. He had just turned 18 and was barely out of high school. He was diagnosed with juvenile HD at age 7. His CAG repeats were 98 - at the time he was one out of five kids in all of Canada to have a CAG repeat so high. The whole world was in front of him, it is so heart wrenching to think of what he could have accomplished in his life if this disease was not in the way. I went back to their home in Jordan, and Damion’s room is a shrine to him, not one thing has changed. They have his old high school photos and trophies, his old sporting hats, all great things to keep his memory alive. Lynn really loves collecting feathers as well as they always seem to appear when she is thinking about him. To honor Damion’s memory they also planted a linden tree in their backyard with a marble angel statue marker. They also put his ashes in one of his favorite cookie jars, which is a great idea! Tim and Lynn took some of his ashes to Mexico to sprinkle them in the ocean, to relive their family trip together when he was alive and swimming with the dolphins. They will take the remainder of his ashes to his favourite places he visited as a child. I photographed this beautiful family on June 3rd- Fleur & @Matt.stainsby and their kids Austin & Bella had won a free family photoshoot through a Huntington Disease charity raffle I was having last year. We had met them a few times through other charity events we had both attended. They are both very sweet people and a lot of fun-especially their kids. So many more great candids were taken, it's hard to narrow down! I decided to photograph at Ambleside Park in West Van.... I love all the greenery of the tall grass, and mountains and epic beaches that this place has! This photo of Matt holding her newborn daughter Bella and giving her a kiss on the forehead while he was lifting her up in the air.
