REFLEXOLOGY and CONSTIPATION In a Pilot STUDY on the effects of REFLEXOLOGY on constipation: 20 women, from 30-60 years of age, with a defecation interval two d...ays or more, who suffered from constipation from 5-54 years with an average of 24.6 years, were given reflexology treatments. Treatment procedure involves 15 treatments given in the following way: 2 per week for 4 weeks, with a minimum of 2 days between each treatment, and then one treatment per week for 7 weeks. RESULTS: Reflexology IMPROVED defecation frequency (from avg of 4.1 days to 1.8 days), reduced painful defecation (from 40% painful to not painful), improved stool consistency by 50% , and reduced the use of laxatives by 55%. Other health problems were reported by 95% of the women and 80% of these women said that their other health problems had changed for the better.
