Black LGBTQIA2S people generally have a complicated relationship with family. We are in a unique position as racialized people with marginalized sexual and gender identities.... Often our cisgender and heterosexual blood relatives remain ignorant to our lived experiences, despite their best efforts to educate themselves. That's why it's so important for us to cultivate relationships with people who can validate out voices. What makes you feel validated?
