What is the "Non-Evidence Maximum"? Non-Evidence Maximums (NEM) is the highest amount of coverage a plan member can have without providing medical evidence of good health. Did you know? Employees may be eligible for excess coverage, based on the Non-Evidence Maximum (NEM) limit that has been set for the group plan. It is the PA responsibility to advise an employee if there is coverage available to them in excess of the NEM and to provide them with the Evidence of Insurabili...ty application form should they wish to apply. The application of excess coverage is not mandatory, however in the event of an approved disability claim the amount of the coverage will be limited to what the employee was covered for on their date of disability. It is recommended that you keep a documented record of your discussion with the employee, should they choose not to apply for coverage.
