Hey guys! Here is mine and Alannas challenger of the week from our first week for our 21 day fix challenge group :) Ive known Jordyn for probably around 2 1/2 yrs? It feels longer, but she is amazing. Shes so positive all the time and looks out for others above herself! We became friends when we both attended the dreadful Augustana University...haha. We met through her friend Alliah and since then weve been friends! Last year we started attending U of A main campus and be...came workout buddies. We did weightlifting and we did it good :) weve always been there for each other as fitness partners. Here is her story! I hope some of you can relate, and be amazed and moved to transform as she transformed her life for the better !:) For as long as I can remember I have always been active. I played many community league sports when I was younger and always enjoyed it a lot! As I got older I created a personal workout program for myself to try and get in better shape. At first this was really great, as I was seeing results and I was enjoying it! However, as time went on, I plateaued and I started to become more focused on my body image, and weight. It became clear to me that what I was doing just wouldnt cut it anymore. So I began to take extreme measures to get the results I wanted. I immediately cut out all fat and sweets from my diet and also began exercising more intensely. After a while I became more and more obsessed with food and exercise-I was working out for almost 3 hours every day and was eating as low as 500 calories. I had developed anorexia and was in a pretty bad place. My relationship with exercise was not healthy. Through counselling and the endless support of my friends and family I slowly recovered and began to take an interest in being healthy. I started working out again, this time shifting the focus off of losing weight and onto becoming strong and fit! For the last three years I have been working towards that. I have used programs such as Jillian Michaels and P90x3 and love working out at the gym too! I still have progress to make, but I am the happiest I have ever been with my body.

Everyone knows how important it is to drink lots of water everyday. But how important is it exactly?? This is just a quarter of how much you should be drinking a day! Im human and I know that I dont drink as much water as I should most days. But it doesnt mean that I dont try I just forget! So maybe set a timer for every hour to drink one cup of water. Thats being almost a bit far fetched but, its a good way to get how much water you need in a day! It really all depends... how much you weigh, your activity level, and your gender but generally you should be drinking between .5 and 1 oz of water for every pound you weigh. So I would need to drink between 57 and 115 oz of water everyday. Thats 14 cups of water!!! Haha. But again. Set a timer for every hour and it will happen. Spinach Dip 1 green .5 red Ingredients: 10 oz fresh baby spinach (about 6 cups, steamed until wilted 1 cups nonfat plain Greek yogurt... 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped cup finely chopped green onions 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice Sea salt and ground black pepper to taste Directions: 1. Place spinach in colander; drain of all excess water. 2. Finely chop spinach; place in a medium bowl. 3. Add yogurt, garlic, green onions, and lemon juice; mix well. 4. Season with salt and pepper if desired 5. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Makes 8 servings (1 green container)

Mmmm. 21 day fix blueberry muffins!! 21 Day Fix Blueberry Muffins blue yellow purple Yield: 9 muffins Serving Size: 1 muffin... Ingredients: 1 cups almond flour or whole wheat flour 1/8 tsp salt tsp baking soda 1 tbsp. coconut oil, melted 2 eggs 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk cup bananas, mashed (about 1.5 bananas) cup blueberries Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix together the flour, salt and baking soda. 3. In another bowl, mix together the coconut oil, almond milk, and eggs. 4. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir. 5. Stir in the bananas and gently fold in the blueberries. 6. Divide equally into lined muffin pans (makes 9). 7. Bake for 30 minutes, until toothpick comes out mostly dry.

I have always been a lover of coffee, I blame my mom for this one;) but I load it with cream and sugar all the time. I know how bad it is for me, but I just can shake it. I was looking up "healthier" homemade creamers and came upon this lovely "recipe". It said to add one tbsp of coconut oil (I used butter) and blend it in a blender until it started to foam. Essentially I got a delicious coffee that tastes like coffee but has foam from a latte, AND its healthy! I didnt even have to add sugar to it. If anyone has this problem with coffee (adding cream and sugar) and would like to kick it like this photo! **Long post alert!** Philippians 2:3-4 "Dont do anything for selfish purposes, but with humility think of others as better than yourselves. Instead of each person watching out for their own good, watch out for what is better for others." When I first began my fitness journey I did it to keep my mind off of how awful my year has been. It was fantastic, and God really helped me through the darkest time of my life. But when I moved home from school it began to take hold of me. ...I began wanting to be fit because I wanted to look good, I mean who doesnt, and that was my only motivation. Not because I wanted to be healthier. But after totally dipping out of my healthy lifestyle this summer, I realized I wasnt healthy. I went through a month where I just wasnt happy no matter what I did. I depended on anything but God to make me happy, and I definately feel like not taking a hold of my fitness was also a bit part of that. But once I got back into the school routine and back to working out and watching my nutrition, I came alive again! God made me realize what I am meant to do in my life: to show people through my experiences that anyone can reach their goals. Not only physically, but mentally. Because if youre not mentally in it, youre going to find any and every excuse not to focus on your health. I never thought that God would lead me down this road possibly as a lifetime career, but I definately feel that He is telling me this is a calling in my life:) so I am going to make it my goal to help others to love themselves. God is so good all the time, and He is constantly reminding me that I can do anything through Him, and gives me that mentality as I lead people to achieve their goals:) See more

This program is, like its title says, INSANE! My sister and I did it for a week and it was very difficult. But it was the mentality that brought us both down. We quit that program and I began the 21 day fix extreme, which was definately a better start for me personally because Shaun T does A LOT of cardio, and I hate cardio...haha. But the results from this program alone is insane as well. Honesty, that week we did these workouts everyday I felt myself getting less tired and ...nauseous as I finishd every workout. But again, its all in the mentality, I quit because I felt it was TOO HARD. Wow, what a lame excuse...I started 21 day fix extreme and the results from that program in just two weeks were amazing. I didnt follow the portion containers as much as I probably should have but still! The fact that I even had resuts from two weeks was amazing. With that said, I am definatey going to finish what I started with Shaun T because that is always the worst feeling; not finishing what I started. **Long status alert!** Before beachbody Ive always had trouble putting my health, fitness and personal development on the back burner. I still put personal development on the back burner even tho Im not supposed to. Being a healthier you can mean whatever you want it to! Whether it be eating healthier, lifting heavier weights, losing weight, being more confident in yourself, learning more about yourself, spending more time with your children, etc. but you need to find your ...why. Heres my why: Im all about planning, have been my whole life, but Ive never actually scheduled in workouts or meal plans. This week I made a meal plan for the week, snacks, dinner etc. I missed out on the actual meal prep because Ive been setting my priorities elsewhere. But Im hoping that through being a beachbody coach (because even us coaches need a support group) Ill really be able to lock in a solid eating plan, and substituting A LOT. In December 2014, I began my weight lifting journey. I was consistent, 5-6 days a week, having a protien shake with creatine after ever workout, eating somewhat healthy. And I was in the best shape of my life as of April 2015. I slacked off during the summer, as I do every summer for some reason, and lost ALL of my muscle. Ive never been fat or overweight, but I always have that bit of chub that everyone has such a hard time getting rid of. So my long term goal is to get rid of it again and Id actually like to gain weight. Muscle of course cuz muscle weighs more than fat:) When my mind is set on something, I get it done, I hold myself accountable, and Im successful. Its never easy and I always try and make excuses for myself but I am determined to eat healthier and gain my muscle weight back again:) 21 day fix extreme has been tough, its not going to be easy ever. But I know that with my results just from two weeks of doing this program that I am going to continue doing it:) What is your why? In what way(s) would you like to be a healthier stronger you?
