Christmas in a Cup I am always looking for healthier alternatives to the creamy, sweet holiday beverages that are available during the holiday season. I tried this combination and it makes me think of christmas in a cup (hence the name). ... cup coconut milk cup soy milk scoop of vanilla protein powder 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg tbsp maple syrup cup hot water ~~Blend the first 6 ingredients in a blender and then stir in the hot water. Christmas is fast approaching and I wanted to share one of my favourite christmas recipes with you for a sweet and salty holiday treat. The pistachios and pomegranate arils give this treat the perfect colour combination for christmas and the best burst of flavour. Dark Chocolate Pistachio Pomegranate Bark Bakers semi-sweet chocolate... Bakers white chocolate (for the drizzle) Chopped pistachios Pomegranate arils Instructions: 1. Melt the chocolate: in a pot over the stove (be careful to not burn the chocolate). 2. Pour melted chocolate on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread chocolate evenly. 3. Sprinkle on toppings. Chopped pistachios, pomegranate arils and drizzle white chocolate. 4. Place in fridge for 30-60 minutes or until chocolate is firm. 5. Look at this little cutie eating his carrot We welcomed Whelan to our family over Thanksgiving weekend and it has been a whirlwind ever since. But I thought this cute face needed a permanent spot on my feed. Whelan loves all food- his kibble, carrots, apples, peanut butter and of course treats. He loves spending time in the kitchen with me and loves trying need foods. He is super active and energetic and loves being outside!! Being mindful when you eat means being more aware of your eating habits and what foods you tend to eat more often. Mindfulness will allow us to fuel our bodies with what it needs and allow us to become more aware of the foods we choose to eat. Ask yourself a few of these questions each time you eat. How hungry are you? What are you eating? What is your portion size? ... Where are you eating? Are there distractions? How fast are you eating? How do you feel? Are you satisfied? Did you enjoy the food?
