Communication is key, especially when you have roommates. It is important to remember: You are adults, not mind readers. If you have something to say, say it. Most problems can be fixed by simply discussing it openly. If you let things boil under the surface, they begin to fester. This causes resentment and hurt feelings, which could have been avoided if you just had a conversation about it. Secondly, if your roommate opens up to you about an issue, make sure you list...en. Nothing more damaging than having someone be vulnerable with you and you are looking at your phone or you talk over them with your advice or problems. Check out more on our blog (link in bio)

This is Capt. David McAndie. He was a member of the 10th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force McAndie originally came from Scotland, as so many people did, and he became part of the fabric of the Canadian land. When Canada called, he went to war and paid the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for Canadian values. McAndie earned his Distinguished Conduct Medal at the battle of Somme in the fall of 1916. A sergeant at the time, he took over his platoon after his officer ...had been killed. Nearly 400 members of the 10th battalion lost their lives in the fighting at Vimmy Ridge in 1917. McAndie was noted by his superiors for leading his troops forward. McAndie also earned the military medal soon after fighting at Vimmy. Let us not forget nor take for granted all we have because of the many soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Today is National Stress Awareness Day. Here are the top 5 tips to have less stress: Take good care of yourself: Make sure that you respect your body and yourself, and make yourself feel better every day. Your mind needs a healthy body and for that, you need to eat healthily, limit caffeine and sugar. Take time out for yourself, engage in hobbies, and make sure that you do all of this regularly, even if it feels like a lot of useless effort. If you treat yourself as worthw...hile you are someone worth treating well, you will start to believe it. Exercise regularly: Remember, your body can fight stress better when it is fit. Staying active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from day-to-day worries. Attention to mind and body: Living with a chronic illness can add new layers of stressors, but you can take steps that minimise the challenges of living with a long-term health condition and maximise your quality of life. This might sound bizarre to you, but physical symptoms of a thyroid disorder, heart problems, and even vitamin deficiencies resemble mental illness. So, before you decide that you have a psychological problem, make sure you are physically fit. If needed, visit a doctor and if you still feel distressed, then it’s time to talk to a mental health professional. Remember you are not alone: Life is full of ups and downs, at times it hands out more stress than a person can bear. And sometimes mental health issues seem to descend out of the blue. Whatever the case, mental illness is not something to be ashamed of. It might happen that some people will not understand you, but that doesn’t mean you are alone. Reach out to those who understand you and talk to them. See more
