We’re baaaackk! Hello friends. It’s been a long time since I have posted anything bandwise . It took this knee surgery to keep me in one place long enough to hop on social media so here I am. I know you are wondering what happened to us, so without further adieu this is the latest scoop on the Melodiac.band. In case you’ve been out of the loop, mid January we had a catastrophic flood in the Rubberroom. That’s the sound kitchen where we concoct our melodic creations. This put... a halt on recording the final tracks, mixing and mastering of the album. Just as the studio restorations got started, Covid19-brought that to a grinding stop. Once things opened up again, construction resumed, gear got replaced and recently the distancing restrictions loosened up a bit. The Rubberroom is now done (minus a few pieces) and we have been able to get back to rehearsals for a pending summer outdoor bbq jam. In the interim, we have been putting our new drummer RH, through the Melodiac mill initiation courtesy of the Andy guy. I am happy to report he has emerged smiling with sticks still in hand. Meanwhile, SL has written an entire solo album of tunes including a Covid ditty. We also recorded long distance a cover by Gentle Giant. With some luck, the Covid restriction maximum could be lifted and maybe a summer 2020 Gregwoodstock may still happen. Fingers crossed. See more
