Beach day for the whole centre to beat the heat!

The Sunshine Coast is currently under a heat warning which indicates a heat wave for the remainder of the week with daytime high temperatures near 30 degrees Celsius. You will be contacted if anything changes with our regular programming due to extreme heat, but we hope to continue to run programming during this time and would like to advise you on the precautions we take to ensure safety of all the children. Heat alert information and UV index is continually checked. C...hildren spend no longer than 20 minutes in the sun (with hats and sunscreen), and plans are made with staff to ensure children spend as much time as possible in the shade, playing in the cool shaded water, and/or cool indoor spaces. Staff are prepared to know signs of heat illness and when it is an emergency. Caregivers are asked to send their child(ren) with a hat and sunscreen. Program staff will also have sunscreen available and will work to keep hats on the children when in the limited amounts of sun, apply sunscreen, and to drink lots of water. If you have any questions and/or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the mem7iman staff.

The simplest things are so fun!! The children at mem7iman had so much fun playing with the material. In these pictures they are ghosts circling the playground saying boo!!

We had a tie dye party here at mem7iman this week! The children had a lot of fun choosing colours to customize their own shirts. We can’t wait to send them home when they are done.

Our painted lady butterfly larva arrived today. The children helped seperate their food into containers and each larva has their own home now. We are excited to watch them grow and observe their transformation
