Members of e-APA

StarWolf submitted a number of costuming photos to me for display, which are great. Some of them are topless; we took a vote, and the result is that we will abstain from publishing them. We don’t want to be dirty old men or appear to be dirty old men. With that said, what are the current criteria for photos in costuming fandom? I tend to suspend my judgment and bow to other people’s aesthetics and practices when I know I don’t understand what’s going on. Besides, as Graeme has pointed out elsewhere, we haven’t settled questions of written permission to use someone’s image, which have become prominent issues in fanzine and convention practice in the last generation or two.

This is a reminder that the deadline to submit your contributions to eAPA 196 is approaching on August 1, 2020, at midnight Pacific time. With the upcoming mailing we feature a new BOOPLEDOGGIN’ from CHUCK CONNOR!!, the famous long-lost fan who knows an English word that rhymes with orange!, and we open a vote of all members to ask: shall we run not only costuming photos, but topless photos of StarWolf’s friends?
