2021] Retired Lieutenant Robert Morin February 18th, 1938 January 8th, 2021 Bob shall be formally commemorated at the September 2021 Memorial Ceremony. OBITUARY UPDATE : ... Robert Bernard MORIN (Bob) passed away peacefully at home in his 83rd year in the presence of his beloved wife Yvette. Bob is survived by his wife Yvette, along with his six children, his son Bill and grandson Shayne, daughter Debbie (Mark) and grandson Josh, granddaughters Melissa, Jessica, and Natasha, daughter Patty, son John (Maria) and twin granddaughters Johna and Gioia, daughter Kim (Jimmy) and grandsons Rufus and Hank and son Michael (Sheree) and granddaughters Savannah and Michaela. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Eileen (nee Brady), and his brothers Raymond and Leonard. Bob served as a professional fire fighter joining Ottawa Fire Department in 1958 and after over 32 years; retired from service. Bob was an Ottawa boy known from an early age to be an entertainer like his brother Leonard and his father Wilfred. We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the team and special people who provided compassionate care to Bob over these past years: Dr. Giovanni Bonacci, Nurse Practitioner Suzanne Menard, PSW Francis Muhal, the many nurses from Carefor Health and Community Services, and The LHIN Champlain Network. Cremation will take place with a private interment of ashes occurring January 20th, 2021 at Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date due to current COVID restrictions. For further information and to register, please email [email protected]. 2020]December RETIRED FIREFIGHTER KEN GASCON. Joined Vanier FD Apr11/63, Ottawa FD July 1/85. Retired July 31, 1997 Died: December 19, 2020 Ken will be formally commemorated at the September 2021 Memorial Ceremony. .... OBITURARY : Ken passed away peacefully at the Elizabeth Bruyere/ palliative care after a three month battle with an aggressive bone Metastasis cancer. Dearly beloved husband of 59 years to Mary Gascon. Loving father to Jeffrey (Marie) James (Roslyn). Proud grandpa to Kaitlyn and Kyle Son of the late Ken and Daisy Gascon Loving brother of Carole (the late Bob O'Hearn) Marilyn (Gary Sirna) Linda (Denis Dubuc) Brenda (Terry Ranger) Wendy (Larry Hotte) Brother in law to Jessie Smith . Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Ken a professional fire fighter, joining the Eastview (Vanier) fire dept. In 1963 and retiring from the Ottawa Fire Dept. in 1997. A proud 56 year member of the Eastview Legion Br. 462 A special thank you to Bill and Ray for all their phone calls, well wishes along with updating his other Legion buddies at table #1 George, Harold, John, Paul and Leo. At Ken's request, he was cremated. A family interment will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery.2020
