Take a few minutes to message me your wish list as I’m looking for feedback on plants you would like me to bring in this coming season. I will do my best! Thanks again for your support!

Trying the bypass using my friend’s instructions below. So I’m doing what everyone else is doing. Fixing my blocked posts. I wondered where everybody had been! This is good to know. It's ridiculous to have over 400 friends and only 25 are allowed to see posts. I ignored this post earlier because I didn’t think it worked. It WORKS!! I have a whole new news feed. I’m seeing posts from people I haven’t seen in years. Here’s how to bypass the system FB now has in place that limi...ts posts on your news feed. Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts. So hold your finger down anywhere in this post and "copy" will pop up. Click "copy". Then go to your page, start a new post, and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. "Paste" will pop up and click "paste". This will bypass the system. If you are reading this message, do me a favor and leave me a quick comment...a "hello," a sticker, whatever you want, so you will appear in my newsfeedIt WORKS! ...Howzit... Got this from a friend hope it works !

I am considering bringing indoor plants in and would like some feedback if there is enough interest and which types you would like?

Watering Alert today! There is a huge difference between the heat on your trees, shrubs and plants and the level where the roots are in the ground. If watering in this temperature, use water that does not feel cold to the touch so as not to extremely shock your plants. Years ago, it froze one night in mid-July. I arrived home at 4 in the morning; there wasnt a breeze in the air and when I touched the leaves on an Arnold Red Honeysuckle shrub to confirm I was seeing frost, the whole shrub literally started vibrating!

Memory Lane Greenhouse 11.03.2020

This very mild winter season will be extremely hard on our perennials and newly planted trees and shrubs. Although we are all enjoying the warm weather, our plants are not as happy as one would think! You may have noticed the poplar, lilacs and willows have started to produce buds again which gets the sap flowing causing the plant to split when the hard frost comes. If the weather keeps producing a freeze/thaw cycle, you can expect there may be damage this coming spring. Between unseasonally warm weather and not watering in your newly planted stock properly in the fall is the cause of losing all your hard work come spring.

Memory Lane Greenhouse 28.02.2020

TIP OF THE DAY! Winter is around the corner. Dont forget to give your newly planted trees, shrubs and perennials a last good water to help them make it through the winter. Most plants die over the winter due to lack of moisture going into the winter.

Memory Lane Greenhouse 14.02.2020

TIP OF THE DAY! Wonder why your tomatoes, dahlias, salvia, peppers, cucumbers and other heat-loving plants arent performing as well as expected? Well, with all the rain and cool temps weve had the past month, they need more heat from the sun for at least 8 hours a day and night temps of at least 10 degrees C. What to do? If at all possible, bring your plants inside for the rest of the season. If not, cover them at night to ward off the cool air. ARBOR DAY is just around the corner! We still have a variety of trees and shrubs available including: maydays, mountain ash, Siberian Cedars, Lilacs, Prairie Magic and Red Sparkle Apples, Pear, ornamental Crabapples and more. Come check out our inventory at our church location up the road from the Dragon Palace!

Memory Lane Greenhouse 12.10.2019

TIP OF THE DAY: To properly plant a tree or shrub, dig a hole three times the width of the pot it is in and 3-4 inches deeper than the height of the pot so that the soil below the plant has been loosened to allow the roots to grow more freely. Once the hole has been dug, fill it with water and let the water drain away. Takes about 15 minutes. Meanwhile water the plant thoroughly to ensure that a good supply of moisture has been applied to the roots. If the roots are root... bound and going around in a circle inside the pot, get a carpet knife and put a slash in the roots from top to bottom north, south, east and west. If they are root bound, the roots will spring apart and be very happy you did so. If not, skip this step. Place a handful of bonemeal mixed into the soil in the bottom of the hole; place the tree or shrub in the hole and fill with half the soil, then pour in about a gallon of water to get moisture below the surface, but not soupy. While this is happening; mix 1 part sheep manure (Home Hardware) with 3 parts of the remaining soil (ex.: 1 container manure to 3 containers soil). When the water has drained away add the mixed soil into the hole. Be sure not to cover the growth bud, that thick part along the stem at ground level in the pot. Add just enough soil to cover the top to seal in the plant. Pack the soil firmly but not rock hard so that water can drain down towards the roots each time you water. Create a three inch burm all around the hole so that the water is directed downward each time you water. In hotter weather, water more often. Generally a good watering once or twice a week. If you take good care of it the first year, the second year will be alot less work. Happy Gardening!

Memory Lane Greenhouse 05.10.2019

Finally the big day has arrived! 350 fruit and ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials will be available late in the afternoonTuesday, June 4th at our church location at 5449 South Access Rd. This week only I will be on site Wed., Thurs. and Friday until 7 pm for pickups on pre-orders. Saturday onward our normal hours are 10-6 pm. Next Post: TIP OF THE DAY - how to plant trees and perennials.

Memory Lane Greenhouse 01.10.2019

TIP OF THE DAY: Watch the weather forecast this week! Environment Canada is predicting lows of 4 for Thursday and Friday nights which wont make many of your plants happy, particularly veggies and some heat loving bedding plants like marigolds, nasturtiums, Salvia, sunflowers and veggies like tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Cover with old sheets or take them inside. If your plants leaves get a purple-blue look they have cold stressed. As long as they havent froze, they wont be happy but they will be fine.

Memory Lane Greenhouse 28.09.2019

FINALLY! Our fruit and ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials will be here mid-week. Will post as soon as they are ready for pick-up. Thanks for your patience.
