It's been amazing to hear about how participants of #TheInsideOutProject have been continuing to engage in difficult conversations about complicity with white supremacy culture and to start taking action (progress over perfection)to build truly inclusive and equitable cultures within their organizations. Check out Cogeco Media (YourTV)'s coverage of The Inside Out Project: Our Future is Anti-Racist: https://lnkd.in/geT6Gua... Grateful to the 15 organizations and 80 leaders from across the Halton community who participated in the pilot this past February! #inclusion #equity #antiracist #Wegetthefutureweinvestin #wegetthecommunitywebuild #theinsideoutproject #OurFutureisAntiracist #haltonpoli #Milton #burlington #Oakville #haltonhills

May we take this moment, on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination to reflect on the role each of us plays in creating safe and equitable spaces for ourselves and for others. "1 in 2 survey participants who identify as visible minorities have felt attacked by hateful comments on social media, and nearly six in 10 said they have witnessed hatred online. Fadel, 22, is sharing her story in support of the #BlockHate campaign launched by the Canadian Ra...ce Relations Fdn / Fondation canadienne des relations raciales and YWCA Canada to highlight the consequences of social-media hate. It’s not so much the violent incidents that we’ve seen over the past year, which have attracted considerable media attention, that are fuelling people’s concerns about racism, he said. It’s also the extent to which people are witnessing this phenomenon expand in social media. The survey also suggested that one in three Canadians admit to holding a negative view of Muslims, one in five have a negative view of Indigenous people and one in seven state a negative view of Chinese people, Jews or immigrants." https://nationalpost.com//497a4124-3641-412c-a103-a28/amp/
