Happy Thanksgiving weekend! We wish you a long weekend full of rest, rejuvenation and things to be thankful for.
Just over a week ago an MCI Grade 12 student, Morgan Harms was involved in a serious accident. Today we’re thankful for the ways God has been made known through this tragic event.
A few snap shots from our 5-0 win yesterday against WPS! Goals by: Josh Heide (x2) JJ Scherr (x2)... Sam John (x1) Go Blues!
Yesterday, the grade 12 Mennonite Studies class toured the Steinbach Mennonite Heritage Museum. It was a day filled with church and school history lessons, as well as a chance to see how some of our ancestors lived in Manitoba in the later 1800s and early 1900s.
Every Child Matters Today MCI students have taken time to sit in the discomfort of Canada’s history and honour Residential School Survivors. As we joined in the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation’s online event, we were invited to listen, learn, and sit in the discomfort. For some of us this is the beginning of a journey, for others this is our story - of a parent, grandparent or ancestor. Today we are reminded that no matter where we are on the journey to reconcili...ation, this is our story. We are in it together. Special thanks to Luke Swinson Art for sharing this beautiful piece of art, go visit his Instagram to see more of his powerful work.
Getting creative with the passing of the Presidential jacket this year! Last year’s Student Body President, Briana Neufeld, tosses the jacket over to this year’s president, Jewel Johnson-Audu.
Each weekend on campus looks different depending on the weather, staff, and what the students are interested in. This weekend a few lucky students spent some time learning about cameras and photography. And twinning...
In yesterday’s chapel, MCI students Emily & Savannah courageously raised awareness about the importance of taking our Mental Health seriously, and the realities of suicide. They ended with an encouragement to find healthy coping strategies, like breathing, exercise, talking to someone you trust, and finding healthy hobbies. Today, Mr. Thiessen built on this idea and spoke about the importance of having a personal Self Care plan. Here are the questions we were encouraged to ex...plore, take 10 minutes today to answer them yourself. My SELF CARE plan... My day to day stresses include: This stress shows when I: I will try my best to minimize these in my life: I will try my best to add these to my day to day routine: In case of an immediate emergency, I will: To start to recover after an emergency, I will: If you have self care or coping strategies you want to share, let us know in the comments below

Yesterday, Mr. Wiens took the Gr. 11 Bible classes to the Gretna cemetery in honour of Tim Wiebe, who would traditionally walk his Bible/Menno class to the cemetery every September.
GET ACQUAINTED SOCIAL! Yesterday our students were sent out on a scavenger hunt around Gretna for the Get Acquainted Social. This year’s set up was different than usual, but this yearly tradition is an evening where students play games to break the ice at the beginning of a school year and get to know each other a little more!
We spent time in chapel today getting to know each other on a friendship walk around campus. The first little while in a new school can be challenging, so we hope this is one way to meet new friends! Thankful for this beautiful weather!
